The Return of Seven 80/90s Goddesses for TVB New Series "Aerobic Girls"

Eric Tsang produces his first TVB series Aerobic Girls, a 30 episode drama based on the Korean film Sunny about seven princesses. Yesterday the press conference was held at TVB City where the cast and details were officially announced. Seven goddesses from the 80s and 90s will be making a comeback in this series including Carman Lee (39 y/o), Loletta Lee (47 y/o), Gloria Yip (40 y/o), Fennie Yuen (43 y/o), Flora Chan (43 y/o), Angie Cheong (42 y/o) and Elvina Kong (45 y/o). There are also seven young actresses that will be playing the younger versions of the seven princesses -- Kandy Wong (Gloria Yip), Cheronna Ng (Fennie Yuen), Wikie Lai (Angie Cheong), Anjaylia Chan (Carman Lee), Jeannie Chan (Flora Chan), Annice Ng (Elvina Kong) and Venus Wong (Loletta Lee). Lawrence Ng is the male lead and his younger version is played by Matthew Ho Kwong Pui.

The seven leading ladies brought their young versions out with them and introduced them as princesses that will be involved with Lawrence and his younger version. When Lawrence came on stage, he joked: "There are so many housewives here, of course they had to invite me, the 'housewife killer' too!" Lawrence disclosed during casting, he made it clear he wanted a handsome guy to portray the younger him. That's how he can match his 7 pretty crushes.

Eric had been a producer for many films, this considered his first TV series as a producer. He expressed the process is stressful and difficult, so he especially asked TVB executive Tommy Leung for advice and The Simple Life's screenwriter (Susan Chan) for assistance. Aerobic Girls is a series adaptation of Korean film Sunny, a story about the reunion of seven princesses after many years. Together, the ladies provide mutual support for each other as they search for their memories from youth.

Invites Alan Tam to Guest Star

Carman Lee and Loletta Lee will be leading the whole story and have the heaviest screen time. Eric disclosed he has a secret plan to invite good buddy Alan Tam to guest star as an idol from the 80s. Eric said: "I haven't mentioned this to Alan yet. I will let the boss Charles Chan make the decision." When asked if he'll invite Alan's son Tam Hui Fung to portray his younger version? Eric said: "Don't give me pressure."

Eric revealed he relied entirely on the script and sincerity to touch the heart of these artists. The ladies agreed to participate in this series for a "friendship price". Initially Eric invited Patricia Ha, Teresa Mo, Veronica Yip, Sheren Tang and Elisa Chan, but unfortunately they each had something going on and had to turn him down. Eric said: "Teresa is in Europe with her daughter for her final year in college. Although she loves acting, she loves her daughter more and decided not to accept this series. Then the whole cast changed, but Teresa agreed to be our adviser to help direct the group of newcomers."

Lawrence Upsets his Daughter

Lawrence who claimed himself as the "housewife killer" expressed he has scenes opposite of the 7 leading ladies and previously, he had only worked with Flora Chan before. Asked whether there are any kiss scenes? He said: "In the younger generation, I'm old now." Lawrence sighed and said his daughter is upset because he accepted this series. He originally promised to take her on vacation during her summer break, but now its all been cancelled. He expressed he only has a little over 2 months in his schedule for this series because he has another Mainland series after.

Among the 7 leading ladies, Carman Lee appeared to have maintained her looks the best and thus caught the most attention. There really isn't much difference in her looks now compared to 1995 when she played "Siu Long Lui". She expressed she kept it well from consistent physical activity over the last 10 years. A witness once spotted Carman taking care of a little girl, asked if she's already married and has children? She said: "I have never been married or had kids. My boyfriend and I have been separated for 4 and half years already. I'm still available now." She disclosed she helps babysit her younger sister's daughter and enjoys it. This time, Carman's family is happy that she's making a comeback on television. She said she had not been in a TV series since 2004 and is mentally prepared for the difficulty that comes along with it. She expressed the producer agreed to allow 8 hours of rest time; she trusts he will keep his promise.
