Kenneth Ma, Tavia Yeung, Him Law and Mandy Wong took part in a basketball competition promotional event for The Hippocratic Crush. Yesterday the cast arrived at the high school to play a basketball game against the students. In a pair of leather shoes, Kenneth carelessly tripped his opponent during the game, frightening him so much he put his hands up in surrender. Him also tripped and fell during the confusion. The final score was 18 to 7, the Students crushed the Artists defeating them by 11 points.

Tavia didn't participate in the game, but she did serve as the cheerleader for her team. She exposed: "In the series, Kenneth is suppose to be good at basketball, but in reality he's really bad at it. He NGed countless times before he was able to get 1 shot in." It turns out Kenneth doesn't know how to play basketball at all, he laughed and said audience only saw the edited version.

 

When speaking of ex-girlfriend Nancy Wu's 6 second cameo appearance, Kenneth said: "She wasn't visiting me on the set, nothing to do with me. It's because the studio turned into a surgery room, so it was like TVB's holy land, everyone wanted to go in and see, including other producers and directors. (Nancy said let nature take its course when getting back together with you?) Well then, let nature take its course!" He said he's currently comfortable being friends with Nancy.

 

Asked if there is a possibility that they may get back together? Kenneth said: "I don't know the future. Never know, maybe they'll (media) will say I'm back together with Margie Tsang! It's all written and rumored by you guys! (You two didn't admit to have dated?) Any rumored friend can be said to have reconciled with me!"

 

The Hong Kong Chief Executive Election Debate will be televised on that Friday night when The Hippocratic Crush finale airs, and thus the finale will be pushed back 30 minutes. The cast believed this won't affect the ratings. Tavia believes it won't be too much of a problem: "Everyone in Hong Kong is following the election and it has been a concern in HK for a long time. It will be perfect for audience to watch the series finale right after the debate!" Him also believes its a small affect on the ratings and both programmes are important in HK. He hopes the finale will reach 40 points.

As for Him, he was asked if he'll carry rumored girlfriend Tavia into the basketball court? He smiled: "I have to get the ball, I don't have that many hands to carry her too!" He also expressed his injury from the fall isn't too serious and won't need to tell Tavia about it. Asked if he's going to pursue her? He said: "No such thing. (She's pursuing you?) No, good friends, normal friends. (Had rumors with female stars previously, still dare to date?) Time will past. I will do less joking now, but I'm not afraid to pursue female stars."

 

Tavia Yeung, Him Law, Kenneth Ma, Mandy Wong and the rest of the cast to TVB series The Hippocratic Crush attended a promotional event and announced last week's ratings averaging at 30 points and peaked at 33 points. When rumored couple Tavia and Him were interviewed, the two often flattered each other and flirted.

Currently appearing on series after series, Him denies he's already standing firm in the TV industry: "But I do feel the greatest sense of accomplishment this time. On the streets, people call me by my nickname in the series 'Onion'." Is it because of the rumors with Tavia that brought the ratings up? Tavia laughed: "What, there's something like that? I have always been in the group with strength." Standing besides her, Him said he is on the idol group, he said: "I have to learn from Tavia, she is a beautiful girl on both the strength and idol groups." Tavia immediately 'returned the gift' and praised Him back, that he's a handsome guy. Since the series is getting such good response, will there be a chance to collaborate again? The two expressed that question is for the producer, don't have to be too deliberate.

 

Tavia exposed recently she has been infected with the money famine: "I shoot any TVB series there is. (A couple team with Him?) No matter what, whenever we come out, you all (reporters) will say we are a couple team! If there are any BBQ shops opening, they are welcomed to invite us to do the ribbon-cutting ceremony, we can discuss the price and give discounts!" As for Him, he was asked if he took on the same tactics as he did in the series on Tavia? He said he hasn't done anything, but Tavia said: "If there was a guy that romantic in real life, that would be so sweet. However, I don't like romantic, I like extreme!" Reporters teased Tavia that she should tell Him to sign a TVB management contract, so the two can have more opportunities to work together. Tavia said: "If I'm the manager, I will go tell him to do so!"

 

As Tavia's partner in the series, Kenneth claimed that he and Tavia are the most matching pair on-screen, and warns everyone that he'll be stealing the 'couple team' back from Him. Kenneth laughed: "He can't have her for long. There are many fans that like me and Tavia as a pair. Tell Him to step aside, I'll be pulling her back to my side since our romantic storyline will be airing soon. (But they are together in real life.) I don't care. But I'm not sure if they really are an item in real life, can't see any signs."

Recently, several series produced by TVB have been accused of plagiarizing other productions and lacks creativity. As the criticisms are still heard in the ear, this week Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung's medical drama The Hippocratic Crush (THC) premiered and suspicion of plagiarism emerges once again. This time viewers said that THC is a rip off of Mainland drama Healing Souls (HS) starring Francis Ng and Jessica Hsuan.

ATV bought the broadcast rights to air Healing Souls in 2008. After several years, it unexpectedly gets plagiarized by TVB. Looking back at the two series, it does indeed contain a lot of similarities. Although, TVB's The Hippocratic Crush only aired 4 episodes so far, the scene in the first episode about the unconscious child after a car accident and the 'Neurosurgery Intern', played by Kenneth Ma, happened to pass by to rescue him was the same type of scene as in Healing Souls's first episode. In HS, the scene was about a car accident, in which 'Neurosurgery Doctor', played by Francis Ng, also went to rescue the injured person. The two series were precisely the same from the first episode!

As far as the storyline goes for the two series, there are 'coincidences' as well. In both series, the lead actresses Jessica Hsuan (from HS) and Tavia Yeung (from THC) were both medical interns. The same holds true for the lead actors, Francis Ng (from HS) and Kenneth Ma (from THC), both did not get along with the lead actresses at first, but later developed a relationship.

In THC, Tavia's role grew up in a single-parent family because her parents were divorced and her mother later re-married. Many years later, Tavia and her biological sister Mandy Wong worked at the same hospital. In HS, Jessica's parents were divorced and she grew up in a single-parent family as well. The difference is, Jessica's father was the one who re-married and had a daughter (played by Liu Jia). Several years later, Jessica and her half-sister Liu Jia worked at the same hospital. There are too many coincidences between the two story lines. Reporters contacted The Hippocratic Crush's producer Poon Ka Tak about the issue, but he only said: "No comment!"

This series just finished airing, but it was said to have plagiarized popular Mainland drama Dwelling Narrowness because Linda Chung's role was basically the pirated version of 'Hai Zao'. Both roles undertaken unethical transactions because they wanted to climb up top.

The Mysteries of Love

The series stars Raymond Lam and Tavia Yeung. Netizens said it was a copy off of Japanese drama Detective Galileo. Whether if its the story, the characters, profession or the personalities, it is all very similar to Detective Galileo.

Split Second

This 2004 series stars Kevin Cheng and Moses Chan. At the time, viewers said it was a copy off of the films Infernal Affairs, PTU and American series 24. Moses' role is similar to Anthony Wong's role in Infernal Affairs, many of the scenes resembled scene seen in PTU and the whole entire concept of the series was similar to 24.
