Brief summary:
Newly appointed forensic pathologist Cheng Zhixin (Hera Chan), inspired by Lin Chen (Willie Lai) since childhood, aspires to join the forensic department. However, upon joining, she is sidelined by her superior, Lin Chen. Lin Chen and his ex-wife, Gao Shuxian (Wong Yee-kam), a senior inspector in the Major Crimes Unit, are at odds. Their paths cross again when their daughter, Lin Xuelei, runs away from home. Zhixin wins Lin Chen's approval with her diligent work ethic and forms a bond with police officer Gao Jun (Mark Ma) The three gradually become a highly effective investigative trio. Zhixin's best friend, Dan Peijia (Jinny Ng), after experiencing heartbreak and unemployment, becomes a Hong Kong news reporter. She and veteran reporter Zhan Baiyu (Nicholas Yuen) develop from bickering rivals into supportive partners. Just as Zhixin's career is on track, she hears of her friend Peijia's death and vows to uncover the truth and speak out for the deceased!
