My thoughts:
This show is finally airing after what seems like 1 year plus? Hope this series will be better than "When a dog loves a cat" which I find it very irritating and boring. The plot seems a bit similar. It's interesting why Steven is wrongly deemed as one of the kidnappers as there seems to be no relations. Linda will be acting as a tomboy, wonder how it turns out? What do you think about this series? Pls comment. ^_^
My thoughts:
A lot of tvb dramas in 2010 much anticipated. Out of the 10, 3 series shown police plot which I am very much interested in especially the drama featuring Raymond and Tavia. Not to forget Rosy Business 2 which is also highly anticipating. I realised that Bobby Au-Yeung had not been on-screen for the entire year 2009, the hotel drama seems funny and has a strong cast. In all, continue to produce more good shows, TVB! ^_^
Pls comment on the drama that interest you most. : )

My Thoughts:
Congratulations to all the winners, they totally deserve it. Feel most happy about Tavia getting My favourite Female Character and Best performance award. It's a shame that Michael Tse didn't get My favourite Male Character Award but both him and Wayne are on par to each other, so it doesn't really matter who should get. Maybe both should get the award? Best supporting actress goes to Susan who joined TVB for just 1 year? Anyway, she has good acting skills. In fact, I am curious why Best series goes to Rosy Bsiness as Beyond the Realm of Conscience got highest rating for the year? I feel that Rosy Business will not be popular if not for Wayne and Sheren. Looking forward to the second season of Rosy Business. ^_^

Brief summary:
Setting out on their quest for fame and fortune, three female TV stars of different backgrounds are resolved to achieve their dreams at any price. But after so many ups and downs in their acting careers, they finally come to discover the secret of true beauty. Driven by sheer vanity, Ko Ching-man (Kate Tsui) takes part in a beauty pageant despite the strong opposition of her mother, a long-retired actress named Cheung Lai-hung (Kingdom Yuen), and leaps to stardom soon after winning the championship. Rising actress Cally Tong (Sharon Chan) feels threatened by Man and decides to join another TV station to look for a breakthrough, which is not supported by her production assistant friend Deacon Chong (Chris Lai). Leading actress Keung Chin-fung (Christine Ng) used to be a bitter rival of Hung. Realizing that Man's acting career is taking off at top speed, Fung means to approach her as a mentor, through which she hopes to drag the girl into her moral downfall bit by bit. Desperate for everlasting beauty, Fung injects herself with illegal substances in an attempt to slow the aging process. But things do not really go as planned and her face starts to change in shape. Her advertising deal with a cosmetics company is subsequently canceled and Man has soon replaced her as the new product endorser. Even the Award of Best Actress, which she has won for years, is slipping out of her hands. To vent her anger, Fung seeks to extract revenge on Man, finally plunging her into a world of pain and trouble.

My thoughts:
Seems like an interesting plot of behind the scene in the entertainment circles. I wonder how Christine Ng face would look when she inject the illegal subtances. How you find this new drama? Pls comment. ^ ^
My thoughts:
Feel that this year anniversary is the best. Having so many artistes perform and sing olden songs and drama theme songs was very innovative. The artiste appearance was very unique this year as some are dressed in their dramas costumes and the background setting was different. I like the wax museum the best. How about you? Pls comment if you have watched the tvb 42nd anniversary. ^_^
Happy 42nd birthday TVB (19/11/2009)! Continue to produce more good shows for us to enjoy. ^_^
My thoughts:
Quite creative dressed like that and nice suit. The singing wasn't so bad after all. : )

Brief summary:
The relationship between the father (Sunny Chan) and son (Ron Ng) had always been distant. The son felt that the father's set of principles were too outdated. The father always mentioned that he had a strange encounter in his younger days, but the son was certain that it was just his excuse to cover up his failure. During the period when their relationship was the most strained, the father met an accident and went into a coma, with his life hanging on a thread. The son was remorseful, and while feeling lost and helpless, he accidentally traveled back in time - returning to the younger days of his father... The father and son actually became good friends. In this simple generation-period, the son learned how to get along with others again, and experienced how valuable relationships with his closed ones are. He even witnessed the strange encounter during his father's younger days - which was actually that the father had met up with the son, whom wasn't supposed to be born yet at that time...
Alternative summary:
Chor Ci (Ron Ng) and his father, Chor Fun (Sunny Chan), depended on each other for a living. After graduating from the university, he became a public relations officer in a tobacco company. He repeatedly completed his tasks well, and got promoted rapidly, becoming part of the young professionals group. Chor Ci depended on the tobacco to get fame and wealth, but Chor Fun felt that his son was promoting smoking as ‘helping a villain to do evil’, thus Chor Ci had long ago moved out from the house so that he would not have any conflicts with his elderly father. It was until Chor Fun contracted the Alzheimer’s disease that Chor Ci could only move back home to take care of him. However, Chor Fun’s old style of doing things was both annoying and laughable to Chor Ci. Once, a wealthy businessman from the city tried to poach Chor Ci over using a high pay and post, but unexpectedly, a freak accident happened along the way, causing Chor Ci to travel back in time to the 1960s era. When Chor Ci first stepped into this old era, he was accidentally hurt by the young Chor Fun. Chor Fun took him home, but he came into clashes with the landlady’s, Tam Lan Ching (Nancy Wu), daughter, Ching Lan Fun (Shirley Yeung). Seeing that he was unable to return to 2008, Chor Ci could only find a job to support himself. However, in this place, connections were needed everywhere, and Chor Ci’s education qualifications were useless back then. Fortunately, with Chor Fun’s help, he became a salesman in the departmental store. Unexpectedly, he found out that the city’s wealthy businessman in the modern era was actually the manager of this departmental store, thus he went all out to cling onto this wealthy man. Chor Ci was being picked on by Lan Fun, thus he could only pretend that he was wooing after her, in order to let his days become better. However, after both of them got along over the days, Chor Ci truly fell in love with Lan Fun. Chor Fun accidentally discovered that Chor Ci came from the future, and he’s his son, thus he allowed his son to control his love life. Chor Ci witnessed his father doing such a sacrifice for him, thus he decided to repent his ways and give up on relying the wealthy businessman. However, the wealthy businessman unexpectedly clinched the 2008’s own historical writing award, and he devised an evil plan to buy over Lan Ching’s building, chasing all the tenants out. He wanted to use it to develop his property kingdom. Chor Ci was filled with regrets and decided to salvage the situation. However, he accidentally returned to 2008……

My thoughts:
Initially I thought this show was ridiculous to have arranged Sunny and Myolie to be Ron's parents. But then, notice that Ron actually travelled back in time and became good friends with Sunny makes the plot interesting and mysterious.

TVB Best Actress Award
Best Supporting Actor Award
Best Supporting Actress Award
Best Character Actor Award
Best Character Actress Award
My thoughts:
It is highly expected that Wayne Lai would get the Best Actor Award judging from the overwhelming response from HK where he acted as "Chai Jiu" in Rosy Business. The next most possible to get that award would be Gallen, Ray and Dayo. Quite disappointed for Raymond not to be in the nomination list but then again, he has not acted in any show for this year since he is preparing for his music concert.
TVB Best Actress Award
My thoughts:
It is so obvious that Sheren Tang would be claiming the award. She's even more popular than Wayne in Rosy Business. I felt happy that Tavia is nominated. Is this her 1st time? Another actress that I felt acted well is Ada from The Gem of Life. I am currently watching The Gem of Life and felt that her acting skills deserve some commendations. Unfortunately, I expect most people have forgotten about The Gem of Life since so many grand productions like Beyond the Realm of Conscience, Born Rich and Rosy business receives greater applause.
Best Supporting Actor Award
My thoughts:
I am very sure that this award goes to Michael from E.U. His character in the show as "Laughing Gor" has created an uproar in HK requesting to revive his character. Furthermore, there's a movie specially dedicated to Laughing Gor called "Turning Point". Who else would it be if it is not him? I strongly supported Ron Ng in Rosy Business but he just didn't have the affinity with the award.
Best Supporting Actress Award
My thoughts:
It will definitely be someone from the middle-age group. Since I have not watch Beyond the realm of conscience, I will just make a wild guess that either "The evil 1st wife" from Rosy business (have greater chance) or Susanna or Michelle would claim the title. I know that Joyce Tang wouldn't get the award but I really like her would like to emphasize that her acting skills did improve over the years. Keep it up!, Joyce.
Best Character Actor Award
My thoughts:
It's a bit tricky. Either Michael Tse would get 2 awards considering he claim the Best Supporting Male Actor Award or Dayo would get this award. I have no personal preference regarding this award category.
Best Character Actress Award
My thoughts:
It's seem unfair that Charmaine has two roles nominated in this award category. I really dislike the idea that she would get the award. I feel that TVB is reluctant to give Sheren this award since they have "unwillingly" given her the Best Actress Award. Hope that Tavia or any one from Born Rich can get this award. There's a slight chance that Ada may get the award.
*Pls feel free to comment and make guesses on who will claim the awards. I noted that Raymond is not in the nomination list for TVB.com popularity award. Any idea why? or he had already taken the award last year?*

Brief summary:
Imperial Household Bureau is responsible for managing and directing all household services to the Emperor and the Imperial family in Tong Dynasty. It is composed of four departments, namely Jewels, Attire, Food and Furnishings. Lau Sam Ho (Charmaine Sheh) and Yiu Kam Ling (Tavia Yeung) are introduced into the bureau in their tender age and brought up in the disciplines of the palace. The two girls are diligent. Yuen Tsui Wan (Susanna Kwan), Head of the Jewels, and Chung Suet Ha (Michelle Yim), Head of the Attire, are both very fond of Ho for she is a kind-hearted young girl. Soon, they start fighting for the fellowship of Ho.
Ho always remembers her mother's words left to her before she passed away, that she was told, 'Doing good deeds, speaking good words, showing good will'. She lives her life of being gracious and kind-hearted in the palace. On the other hand, Ling believes her survival in palace is achieved through cruel and calculating tactics. She cheats and schemes her way to the top and finally becomes the concubine. Though she realizes that Ho has fallen in love with the chess master Ko Hin Yeung (Kevin Cheng), her jealousy still arouses by Ho's attraction to the Emperor Lee Yi (Moses Chan). Fearing that she is losing power, she ruthlessly makes up a false allegation against Ho for murdering the Empress (Mary Hon) and condemns her to death. No matter how clever she is to scheme, things do not go the way she planned. By using a strong comparison of the two distinctive characters, Ho and Ling, the message of the drama is that "benevolence" is the only way to gain final victory.

Finally coming out! Like to watch Tavia and Moses pair up again.... This show got the idea from the famous korea series, da chang jin 大長今 but don't worry it wouldn't be similar, it is hong-kong style in this case. It is also tvb grand production for their 42nd anniversary.

Brief summary:
Sophisticated banker Cheuk Yat-yuen (Ray Lui) mistakes con artist Sha Fu-loi (Gallen Lo) for his half brother Cheuk Yat-ming, fortuitously elevating the swindler to one of the leading figures in the banking industry. The lost and found brotherhood has blinded Yuen to Fu-loi’s real nature and intentions.
Yuen is kidnapped overseas by a group of rioters. He undergoes a dramatic personality change after the incident. Yuen’s wife Ho Tseuk-nin (Jamie Chik) has tried her best to console him but still cannot help him get over the unpleasant experience. Longing for more comfort and support, Yuen gets back with his ex-lover Tung Ling-chi (Kenix Kwok). Nin is heartbroken to learn about the affair and it has left the broken mirror that can't be mended.
The identity of Cheuk Yat-ming gives Fu-loi not only a sense of family warmth but also a sweet taste of romance. He finds himself in love with Yuen’s little sister Cheuk Yat-sam (Anita Yuen). Sam is attracted to Fu-loi too but thinking that they are true biological siblings, she decides to keep her love under wraps and stays with her long-term admirer Ko Tok-man (Joe Ma) instead. This comes as a huge blow to Fu-loi. He is not willing to lose his love, but neither can he reveal his real identity. Caught up in the dilemma between love and money, Fu-loi finally chooses the fortune road of no return.
It is all about a tough battle for money, a devious triangle of love, and a severe challenge to ethics.

My thoughts: Seems like a fight for fortune. Like this kind of plot but hope the story would not be repeated from previous series. Looking forward to watch this show with very experience actors and actresses. D:
Brief summary:
Military Governor Choi Ngok (Lau Chung Yan) has been attempting to overthrow the Yuen Sai Hoi government. To facilitate his plan to stage an uprising in Yunnan, he pretends to be fooling around with the highly sought-after courtesan Cheung Feng Wan (Chow Hoi Mei), nicknamed Siu Fung Sin, to avoid detection. Yuen Sai Hoi (Law Lok Lam), who is suspicious of Ngok, sends the Chief of Staff Mok Yik Tin (Lam Ka Wah) to spy on him. Later he even lures Ngok's wife Pak Sz Ting (Tin Yui Nei) to Beijing, hoping that this will force Ngok to pledge his loyalty to the government. To ensure the success of the revolutionary movement, Ngok carries on with his affair with Wan as a camouflage, without realizing that she has seriously fallen in love with him. Wan is ready to give up everything just to be with Ngok while he remains cold and distant towards her. Soldier Yue Yam Kwok (Ma Kwok Ming) is also in love with Wan and would like to get her out of her predicament. Sadly Wan turns him down, for her love for Ngok is so much stronger than one can ever imagine.

Brief summary:
Upon returning from a trip with her husband NG MAN TAK (Chung King Fai), cookery teacher LO SIU LAI (Lee Sze Kei, Louise) is shocked to find that her little daughter NG CHOI NI (Chen Fala) has started cohabiting with a homosexually inclined colleague LAU TAT YAN (Hung Tin Ming) while her divorced sister LO SIU MEI (Ng Wing Mei) is seemingly caught up in a love triangle between tenant YAU KAI (Mak Cheung Ching) and her ex-husband. By and by TAK is forced to retire early and stays at home all day with nothing to do. LAI, on the other hand, is lucky enough to have the opportunity to host a culinary show on TV. Everything seems to have happened too fast but this does not leave LAI frustrated and accursed. Instead she tries to get round every problem with even more patience and dedication, which however is not appreciated by TAK. The bickering continues until LAI eventually thinks of a good way to tackle TAK.

My thoughts:
This show airs too fast in my opinion where they are still other older dramas that are pending. I suppose Louise is acting in this series. Her character in most series is similar such as teaching children the right values, what's wrong and what's right and earning respect from other people. She should have tried on acting different roles, too tired of her "motherly" role.

Episode 1 to 27:
Roger Kwok (Fong Tsun-Kit 方浚杰) an immigration officer was married with mainland immigrant, Claire Yiu (Cheung Si-Man 張思敏). When Claire moves in to live with Roger's family, there was a lot of unhappiness and misunderstandings aroses and Claire's secret was revealed which broke their marriage. In the end, under the persuation of Roger's mother, Claire decided to leave the family. During this time, Roger was very upset and his relationship with his son has strained due to Claire's departure. Roger then focused on his job and got a transfer to the immigration department where he is under the supervision of John Chiang (Mak Kai-Ming 麥啟銘). Roger used to thought John was a hindrance to his promotion and his impression of John was bad but it gradually improved as he finally learnt that John was trying to train him. Roger's best friend, Yoyo Mung (Yip On-Kei 葉安琪) kept encouraging Roger whether in his work or not to give up on Claire and look for her.
In later episodes, Claire returned to Hong Kong and Roger then tried to pursuade her to return to his side. Claire was touched finally by Roger's sincerity and believed that the lost wedding ring that was found again was a sign that fate has brought them together. Yoyo has grown a feeling for Roger at that time but decided to keep it to herself. Roger was devastated as a result of Claire's tragic death. She has been pushed down the building by Raymond Cho (Cheng Pak-Yu 鄭柏宇), a police officer and also Roger's best friend whose video of been bribed by the mafia was been discovered by Claire. In the end, he was being jailed with the help of Roger who wanted to take revenge for Claire.
My thoughts:
Completely missed out Patrick Tang (Au Shun-Fung 歐順風) [Roger's friend], Natalie Tong (Yip On-Yee 葉安兒) [Yoyo's sister], and Toby Leung (Chung Chi-Yan 鍾志欣) [Roger's sister] love triangle part in the summary, but it is rather interesting to watch.
What I like about this series is the immigration cases that they deals with. One particular case is couples who do not love each other get into "fake" marriages so that the party with mainland ID can convert to a Hong Kong ID so that they are allowed to live in Hong Kong which is said to have better prospects. The Hong Kong party on the other hand, will receives a sum of money. I find it amusing that such cases actually occured in Hong Kong (real cases). Overall, the series is ok to watch and if you are interested in how immigration department functions. ^_^

Themesong: "愛怎麼說" by Steven Ma & Tavia Yeung
*Contains spoiler*
Episode 1 to 25:
Steven Ma (Nip Ji-Yuen 聶致遠) and Tavia Yeung (Dau Sing-Suet 竇勝雪) were once a couple but because of Tavia's family selling illegal salt and Steven, being a government official, was forced to capture their family. In the end, both Tavia's parents died and she put the blame on steven and seek revenge from him. Tavia was saved by Raymond Wong (Wu Ting-Hin 胡亭軒) when she was on the run from the government official. Raymond was undergoing a long-term illness that is said not to be recovered. To repay the Wu family for saving her, Tavia decided to help the family with the salt trading business.
A lot of events happened in the salt trading business. There was a critical event which forced the Wu family to give up the rights to sell salt. Since Raymond was very ill at that time and his father was jailed as he was being wrongly accused of murder. There is no one in the Wu family to support the salt business. In the end, Tavia and Raymond got into a "fake marriage" to save the family from the crisis.
After a long time, Tavia found out that Steven was under the influence of his godfather, Felix Lok (To Ying-Lung 屠應龍) which cause him to carry out the government official duties to capture her parents. Meanwhile, they also found out that Felix was engaged in illegal salt business. Steven, Tavia and Raymond gathered evidence against Felix. Unfortunately, Raymond was killed by Felix. In the end, Felix was captured and killed by government official with the help of Tavia and Steven. Steven and Tavia then got married but during the wedding day, Steven could not bear to hide from Tavia the truth that it was him who killed her parents indirectly. Tavia ran away and lived in some mountain tops where it was snowing heavily. She come across Steven in a mountain cave and the series ended there.
My thoughts:
The storyline was quite good but it is quite sad that Steven and Tavia did not get married in the end. It is very similar to Rosy business 巾幗梟雄. One is about rice business and the other about salt business. For those who watch Rosy business, you may want to watch Sweetness in the Salt, but don't expect it to be the same standard as Rosy business.
