Introduction: A chip off the old block 巴不得爸爸

Brief summary:
The relationship between the father (Sunny Chan) and son (Ron Ng) had always been distant. The son felt that the father's set of principles were too outdated. The father always mentioned that he had a strange encounter in his younger days, but the son was certain that it was just his excuse to cover up his failure. During the period when their relationship was the most strained, the father met an accident and went into a coma, with his life hanging on a thread. The son was remorseful, and while feeling lost and helpless, he accidentally traveled back in time - returning to the younger days of his father... The father and son actually became good friends. In this simple generation-period, the son learned how to get along with others again, and experienced how valuable relationships with his closed ones are. He even witnessed the strange encounter during his father's younger days - which was actually that the father had met up with the son, whom wasn't supposed to be born yet at that time...

Alternative summary:
Chor Ci  (Ron Ng) and his father, Chor Fun (Sunny Chan), depended on each other for a living. After graduating from the university, he became a public relations officer in a tobacco company. He repeatedly completed his tasks well, and got promoted rapidly, becoming part of the young professionals group. Chor Ci depended on the tobacco to get fame and wealth, but Chor Fun felt that his son was promoting smoking as ‘helping a villain to do evil’, thus Chor Ci had long ago moved out from the house so that he would not have any conflicts with his elderly father. It was until Chor Fun contracted the Alzheimer’s disease that Chor Ci could only move back home to take care of him. However, Chor Fun’s old style of doing things was both annoying and laughable to Chor Ci. Once, a wealthy businessman from the city tried to poach Chor Ci over using a high pay and post, but unexpectedly, a freak accident happened along the way, causing Chor Ci to travel back in time to the 1960s era. When Chor Ci first stepped into this old era, he was accidentally hurt by the young Chor Fun. Chor Fun took him home, but he came into clashes with the landlady’s, Tam Lan Ching (Nancy Wu), daughter, Ching Lan Fun (Shirley Yeung). Seeing that he was unable to return to 2008, Chor Ci could only find a job to support himself. However, in this place, connections were needed everywhere, and Chor Ci’s education qualifications were useless back then. Fortunately, with Chor Fun’s help, he became a salesman in the departmental store. Unexpectedly, he found out that the city’s wealthy businessman in the modern era was actually the manager of this departmental store, thus he went all out to cling onto this wealthy man. Chor Ci was being picked on by Lan Fun, thus he could only pretend that he was wooing after her, in order to let his days become better. However, after both of them got along over the days, Chor Ci truly fell in love with Lan Fun. Chor Fun accidentally discovered that Chor Ci came from the future, and he’s his son, thus he allowed his son to control his love life. Chor Ci witnessed his father doing such a sacrifice for him, thus he decided to repent his ways and give up on relying the wealthy businessman. However, the wealthy businessman unexpectedly clinched the 2008’s own historical writing award, and he devised an evil plan to buy over Lan Ching’s building, chasing all the tenants out. He wanted to use it to develop his property kingdom. Chor Ci was filled with regrets and decided to salvage the situation. However, he accidentally returned to 2008……

My thoughts:
Initially I thought this show was ridiculous to have arranged Sunny and Myolie to be Ron's parents. But then, notice that Ron actually travelled back in time and became good friends with Sunny makes the plot interesting and mysterious.
