Bernice Liu Bik Yee and Joe Ma Tak Chung appeared as guests at the “International Chinese New Talent Singing Competition 2010″ in New Zealand earlier. Although it was just a five day trip, Bernice gained a lot from the experience. TVB series When A Dog Loves A Cat <當狗愛上貓> was broadcast in New Zealand at the time, so Bernice gained a lot of fans.
Prior to attending the event, Bernice thought English would be the primary language spoken there. However, Bernice was challenged when she had to interact with fans using Mandarin, which was her weakest language. Most of the fans at the music competition were Taiwanese. Bernice laughed, “My Mandarin skills have always been limited. Fortunately I was able to communicate several short exchanges.”
In addition to work, Bernice went shopping in New Zealand. “I bought two cases of red and white wine, as well as ginseng. When I saw Joe Ma buying jars of honey, I wanted to buy them too. But the wine cases almost caused my luggage to go over weight limits, so I did not purchase the honey.”

TVB series, Fly With Me <飛女正傳> starring Ada Choi Siu Fun and Moses Chan Ho was aired in Hong Kong on Monday, April 26, 2010. Although only five episodes were broadcast to date, netizens noted that Fly With Be borrowed elements heavily from existing Hollywood, Korean, Japanese, as well as Hong Kong productions.
The “seven deadly sins” of Fly With Me include [borrowing ideas in] plot, character stylization, DNA mutation, super powers, falling, slow panning of camera [when Ada’s character dodges bullets], and the nostalgic elements from Days of Being Wild <阿飞正传>. The superhero transformation of Ada’s character was also ninety-percent similar to Uma Thurman’s transformation in My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
Fly With Me cast member, Kenny Wong Tak Ban commented, “I personally think a lot of the scenes are a tribute to the classics. It does not matter if it is pigeon-holing, as long as the audience enjoys watching the series.”
Moses was happy about Fly With Me’s good ratings in its first week of broadcast. If the ratings continue to improve, then there will be a celebration. Netizens have compared Moses’ white-haired doctor character to the title character in Japanese anime, Black Jack. There were several style designs for Moses’ character, but the current one yielded the best results. For his white hairstyle, he tried on many different styles as well. By chance, the final results bore similarity to the Black Jack character.

Moses Chan Ho attended a press conference for a home lighting fixture company. He selected a pink light as a bedroom light. He revealed that he was quite skilled in home improvement and installation of lighting. He compared himself to a construction worker and was proud of his skills, since ordinary people did not possess these skills. When he moved to a new home one time, he used his convertible to transport the belongings.
Moses noted that a pink bedroom light can create a nice atmosphere. In his previous village home, he often turned on the balcony light. Watching the wind blow the curtains and listening to music gave him a sense of enjoyment. Reporters complimented Moses on being romantic, but he said no girls praised him for being romantic in the past. He was only focused on the quality of life.
Was Moses still a “diamond” bachelor? Moses admitted that he was bachelor, but not of the “diamond” caliber since he did not possess a great deal of money. Richard Li would qualify as a “diamond” bachelor. Moses joked that he was only a “stone” bachelor himself.
Since Moses finished filming, Can’t Buy Me Love <公主嫁到>, he finally had the opportunity to relax. He laughed and said that he had no time to take a break earlier. Next month, he will be filming a new TVB series.

Bosco Wong Chung Chak promoted his new song, “越過高山越過谷”on a radio program earlier. When it was pointed out that the song resembled a cartoon theme song, he acknowledged that it was similar to the theme song of Japanese anime, Nin x Nin <忍者小靈精>, but the song spoke of a man wanting to finish his work so he can take a vacation with his girlfriend.
Earlier Bosco and rumored girlfriend, Myolie Wu Hang Yee, were allegedly spotted vacationing in Okinawa, Japan together. When it was pointed out that Bosco’s new song lyrics seem to reflect his romantic life, he grew embarrassed.
Bosco changed the topic and started talking about the frequent pain in his right leg. Since he was busy working earlier, he postponed visiting the doctor. Yesterday, he finally had some free time to see the doctor. Due to the check-up, he arrived late at the radio station for his interview. The doctor referred Bosco to see a specialist and get an X-Ray to find out the cause of the pain. “I don’t even have time to go to the hospital now.”
No one was taking care of Bosco? “Even my dog doesn’t care about me! But I’m a grown man now, should I whine about it?” (Did Myolie ask about your situation?) “Yes, many fans expressed their concern on my blog.”

My thoughts:
Looks like a plot full of suspense and intense, very anticipating. All the casts have not being on-screen for a while, gives a refreshing look. After that, there would be lots of Linda Chung's dramas coming up. hiaz... I am happy to see Joyce acting in this series, its been a long time since King of Snooker. Feel free to post your comments. ^_^

Myolie Wu Hang Yee appeared in a long-flowing dress and high wedge sandals at the “Princess Sailing Yacht Ceremony” conference yesterday. Myolie said that if a man were to name his yacht after her English name, she would marry him. This was a very romantic gesture. If the yacht was named after a man’s wife or girlfriend, it indicated how much he treasured her. It was not an issue of money, but rather an indication of sincerity and thoughtfulness. Myolie said that she has not met such a rich man yet.
Perhaps Myolie will use her own money to buy a yacht, but only an inexpensive model. In the past, Myolie sailed on a boat to an isolated beach to have fun. However, she will not go nude sunbathing. She admitted that aside from having no figure, she had no courage to do so. Overseas, Myolie saw other people at a nude beach and it was quite astounding. Also, overseas women tend to have better figures.
It was rumored that Bernice Liu Bik Yee’s attendance was originally requested at the yacht ceremony. Myolie did not know the reason why the sponsor decided to change spokes models. She did not mind replacing Bernice. She was following the company’s work assignments.

Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Kara Hui Ying Hung, Natalie Tong, Nancy Wu Ding Yan, and other cast members of “A Fistful of Stances” met for dinner in Tsim Sha Tsui. The cast hoped that the finale episode will achieve good results on Sunday night. At the same time, they wished Kara Hui will win the Best Actress recognition at the Hong Kong Film Awards for her performance in “At the End of Daybreak.”
Due to her attendance at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Kara will be unable to meet with the cast of “A Fistful of Stances” to watch the broadcast of the finale together. Reporters joked that on April 18th, there may be a ratings battle between Kara’s appearance at the film awards versus her performance in “A Fistful of Stances.”
Kara smiled, “The Hong Kong Film Awards is not only my personal matter. The results for ‘A Fistful of Stances’ are also due to the entire cast. It would be ideal if we can pull high ratings for the series and at the same time, I receive the Best Actress Award.”
Kara revealed that Kevin was unhappy about the initial ratings of “A Fistful of Stances.” Kevin explained “It’s not to the point where I was unhappy, but I was disappointed. We all had high expectations; the script was good so there was no reason for the poor ratings.” (Was Kevin more satisfied with the current ratings results?) “The ratings can be better. The first episode of ‘A Fistful of Stances’ was aired on a Wednesday night. I believe this had some impact [on ratings for subsequent episodes].”
In an earlier interview, Amigo Chui publicly thanked ex-flame, Natalie Tong. In response, Natalie said, “I read the interview. I would like to thank him too. I agree with what he said, that our names should be separated and not mentioned together so frequently.” Currently, Natalie indicated that she was not interested in dating, perhaps rejecting a reunification with Amigo.
Earlier there were rumors that Nancy Wu was involved with a rich businessman, thereby ending her relationship with rumored boyfriend, Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming. Since Kenneth did not appear at the “A Fistful of Stances” dinner that night, it appears that he may be avoiding Nancy. In response, Nancy clarified, “The rumors are false and I regard it as just publicity for ‘A Fistful of Stances.’ (Was Nancy currently supported by a rich businessman?) “In life, you have to depend on yourself. I will not choose this route.”

My thoughts:
Actually I don't reckon this series would be a hit, it is quite draggy and the cast is not very strong. I wonder why the actors and actresses pin high hope on this series.
Brief summary:
LEUNG HAU-CHI (Choi Siu Fun, Ada), a career woman in her 30s, has all the attributes of a typical Hong Kong girl - fussy, arrogant and easily irritated by the sight of beautiful young ladies. She is desperate for love and has been eagerly waiting for the thrilling miracles of life. As CHI is plunged into misery and despair, something strange happens and leads to her abrupt transformation into a superwoman of charm and immense strength. Every time CHI mutates, she is equipped with extraordinary powers, through which she fights for justice and helps the weak, joyously exploring and experiencing a dazzling kaleidoscope of adventures. Along the way, she is happy to have met three nice men, namely the brave yet traditional policeman YEUNG HO-YIN (Wong Tak Bun), the good-natured gentleman turned nouveau-riche businessman TSU WING-FAI (Raymond Cho), and the super-talented genius KAN MING-HIN (Chan Ho, Moses). Fortuitously, HIN is in love with CHI in both her usual and mutated states, leaving her stranded on the horns of a dilemma.
It is always hard to be plain and perfect at the same time. Despite the extraordinary powers she has, CHI is unable to get out of the maze of love. How is CHI going to handle it all? What more perfect choice could there be for her?

My thoughts:
Finally "Fly with me" is going to air. Since last year TVB Sales Presentation, I was anticipating this series. I am sure there will be sparks between Moses and Ada. They look like a lovely pair. Although this is another Moses Chan series in such a short time after "In the eye of the beholder", I am not tired of watching him on-screen again. ^_^ He sprayed his hair white to look convincing as a super-talented genius, wonder if there is any amusing element in his character, that would be good. Ada has not been on-screen since "Gem of life", look forward to her being a superwoman, it must be tiring acting as a superwoman.Feel free to post your comments about this series.

The costume fitting for TVB’s new ancient series, “Hong Wu Thirty-Two” ( 洪武三十二). The series stars Michael Tse Tin Wah, Joe Ma Tak Chung, Kate Tsui Tsi San, Sammul Chan Kin Fung, Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam, and Benjamin Yuen Wai Ho.
Kate will portray the role of a brothel owner. Due to the transparent material of her costume, Kate’s arms and back were exposed. Kate revealed that the script for “Hong Wu Thirty-Two” has not been completed yet. “In the series, I would not have any martial arts sequences. I will probably need to dance in some scenes. Kate’s character will be involved in a love triangle with Joe and Michael. The three actors seem to easily attract negative rumors? “That’s not necessarily a bad thing. That means more people will be noticing this series!”
In response to his love story arc with both Kate and Elanne, Michael said, “I have more scenes with the male actors. I am afraid of rumors; please find someone else for them!”
Acting in an ancient series for the first time, Elanne Kong will play a princess. “At first, I was concerned that my features are too modern to fit the role. But after the costume fitting, the results were okay.” She will be involved romantically with Sammul, Michael, and Benjamin. Elanne anticipates partnering with Michael, but she is afraid that she will be unable to contain her laughter.
At the costume fitting event, Elanne, Sammul, and Michael took photos of themselves on their cell phones and posted them on their blogs afterwards. Elanne said, “Blogs are very powerful. While flying on an airplane to Shanghai for a work assignment one time, I posted photos on my blog. When the plane landed, the fans were already waiting at the airport. They read my blog and realized I would be landing at the Shanghai airport on the same day!”
When reporters asked whether Sammul has met with Stephen lately, Sammul responded, “Which Stephen?” (Of course it’s Stephen Chan Chi Wan!) “I did not meet with Stephen; I do not have his phone number since he opened his new company.” Reporters corrected Sammul and said that Stephen’s responsibilities at TVB have halted, but he has not formally left the company yet. Sammul said, “You can tell I am not very familiar with Stephen’s incident! Let’s return to the topic of ‘Hong Wu Thirty-Two.’ The cast is very similar to ‘The Academy.’ We just substituted Ron Ng Cheuk Hei with Joe Ma.”

TVB series, “A Fistful of Stances,” (鐵馬尋橋) starring Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming, Tavia Yeung Yi, Selena Li Sze Wan, Yuen Chau, and Jacky Heung Jor, will be airing its finale next week. Last week, “A Fistful of Stances” had ratings of 27 points, peaking at 30 points.
In the finale, Kevin and Jacky will have a final combat scene, which may pull in a larger audience. Although the results in the face-off between good and evil are easily predictable (and thus a weak selling point), “A Fistful of Stances” is one of the higher quality series currently broadcasting on the Jade Channel.
Producer Lee Tim Sing touted the series as featuring “real kung-fu,” packed with a tumultuous family saga and mother-and-son story arc. This series was Yuen Chau’s first TVB series. Producer Lee increased the importance of the family story arc between Yuen Chau, Kevin, and Kenneth. A recent scene featuring Yuen Chau and nemesis, Claire Wai Ying Hung, in a martial arts battle sequence was well received by the audience.
Fresh talent, Jacky Heung (son of China Star founder, Heung Wah Keung) is an interesting addition to the cast of “A Fistful of Stances.” With his martial arts background, Jacky fits the arrogant and impulsive character perfectly. “You can tell he’s a great fighter by just looking at him.”
Kevin, who portrayed Yuen Chau’s elder son, did not have any breakthroughs in this role. As Yuen Chau’s second son, Kenneth Ma added a humorous flair to his character. His character also showcased leadership qualities in him, due to his creative solutions in resolving the family’s problems.

Tavia Yeung Yi, Raymond Lam Fung, and Bobby Au Yeung filmed a scene for “An Uninvited Date”(不速之約) yesterday. In the series, married couple, Tavia and Bobby had an argument and Tavia sought solace in Raymond.
While walking on the pedestrian skywalk, Tavia’s high heels fell off. Bobby knelt down to pick up the high heels and Raymond helped Tavia put the shoes on! Tavia said, “I felt like Cinderella! Raymond is idolized by millions of female fans. It is an honor to have him put my shoe on! Even more honorable is having acclaimed veteran, Bobby, pick up my shoe for me!”
Raymond joked and said he did not smell any odd odors while putting on Tavia’s shoe. Was Raymond afraid that this scene will arouse fans’ jealousy? “My most frequent co-star at TVB is Tavia, whom I have known for the longest time.”
Will Tavia be sharing a kissing scene with Bobby? Bobby said, “It’s best if we don’t! When my face is flattened during kissing, I don’t look good! It’s very embarrassing to film this type of scene! If you kiss stiffly, the audience will complain the scene looks too fake. If you kiss too passionately, people will complain that you are a pervert!”

The filming for TVB series, “Seven Days’ Separation” (隔難七日情) officially started yesterday. Steven Ma Chun Wai and Sonija Kwok Sin Lei star as a pair of lovers. After Steven saved Sonija’s life, he taught her how to become a swindler. The two collaborate to swindle the wealthy and use the acquired money to assist the poor.
Over the course of his career, Steven said that his role in “Seven Days’ Separation” was the most flirtatious character he has played. Steven and Sonija will share a kissing scene in the series. One scene spoke of Steven kissing Koni Lui Wai Yee passionately, while intentionally angering Sonija. The pair exclaimed, “The scene is extremely hot!” Sonija and Steven also praised the overall high quality of the script for “Seven Days’ Separation.”
How did Steven feel about the passionate scenes shared with his two co-stars? “Since I know Sonija well, it is not awkward to film the kissing scene. However, Koni is very tall. I am afraid I will not look good standing next to her!”
In one scene, Steven caught Sonija following him on the street, resulting in a close face-to-face shot. “I have filmed many scenes where our faces are positioned very closely next to each other. We have known each other for many years and are good friends, so we are not embarrassed.”
Steven praised Sonija’s Work Ethics
Steven said, “I have to praise Sonija for her hard work. In one scene, she had to film a suicide scene on the rooftop of a thirty-one story tall building. Despite the wirework, if there were any safety oversights, Sonija would have fallen down into the streets below. All the spectators were afraid for her, but she insisted on standing in position to finish the scene. She was very brave. Even a man may not have been able to do it!” Although Sonija was frightened during the filming of that scene, she was motivated by Steven and the entire crew’s support.
Over the years, Steven grew to value the bonds he shared with other people more. He treasured the chance to work with Sonija in “Seven Days Separation” and hoped to achieve good chemistry. “In the past, I was quite shy. Lately, my personality has changed and I hope to broaden myself. I started a personal blog. Chatting with my fans online and seeing my friends’ support, I realize that this world is very big and there is goodwill to be found everywhere. Broadening my horizons made me happier.”

Many TVB series broadcast in the first quarter of 2010 did not pull in ratings above thirty points. The finale for Maggie Cheung Ho Yee and Michael Miu Kiu Wai’s “My Better Half” (老公萬歲) pulled in 31 points. Believing that ratings will improve by airing series with established fadans, TVB will show Flora Chan Wai San’s comeback series, “Suspects in Love” (搜下留情) on Monday, April 5th.
The last series Flora filmed for TVB was 2004’s “To Get Unstuck in Time.” In 2006, she secretly married her manager, Mike Chung Ka Hung, in the USA and had her daughter afterwards. Since then, Flora severely reduced her workload and filmed two to three ads and one film cameo role.
Allegedly, Mike currently has no income and an ad sponsor is suing the couple for $1.1 million (HKD) due to breach of contract. Since Flora was the bread-winner in the household, filming a TVB series would increase the couple’s income. Allegedly, during the filming of “Suspects in Love,” inside sources complained that Flora was ill-tempered and scolded at the crew. In one scene where Flora’s character got drunk, she NG-ed ten times before the successful take was completed.
According to Flora, the reason for her come-back was to allow her daughter to gain more independence. “Over the last six years, I have reduced my filming workload and was in a semi-retirement state. TVB often contacted me to offer me filming opportunities. I repeatedly turned down their offers, including ‘Born Rich.’ The role which was offered to me had many turbulent emotions, including a rape scene and suffering business failure. I have no feelings for this type of role anymore and will not be able to portray it aptly.”
The plot for “Suspects in Love” is much lighter and heart-warming. My character is closer to what you would find in reality.” In “Suspects in Love,” Flora’s character, Cheung Siu Yan, ran away from home when she was a teenager. She became a masseuse and wrongly believed that she was responsible for a murder. Flora’s character was pursued by the mafia and investigated by undercover policeman, Joe Ma Tak Chung. As a last resort, Flora returned to her father, Shek Sau’s, home to help him manage the family herbal tea shop.
Abandoning her trademark career woman role from past series, Flora will portray a besotted masseuse on the look-out for love. Flora spoke further about her character, “She values her relationship with her sister and is on the look-out for a husband. On this note, her character is very similar to me. Her education is not very high, thus her views are simplistic and she will face life on a day-to-day basis. When faced with a challenge, she will find a way to continue living her life.”
Since Flora appears as a teenager in numerous flashback sequences in “Suspects in Love” and the character is cheerful and naïve, netizens wondered whether Flora’s age was suitable in playing the role of such a youthful character.

Fala noted that the award results will not change her intentions to stay in the entertainment industry long-term. “I realize that you need to take things one step at a time in this industry. I will put my whole heart in each of my series/ films. I will learn from fellow veteran actors and add my own changes, to create a ‘Fala Chen’ style of acting.
Love Life a Frequent Gossip Topic
Excerpt from Sohu.com
Due to Fala Chen’s role as Michael Tse Tin Wah’s girlfriend in the movie, “Turning Point” (Laughing Gor之變節), she was nominated in 2010’s Hong Kong Film Awards as Best Newcomer. This year, the Awards ceremony will be held on April 18th.
Earlier, Chow Yun Fat praised Fala’s performance in “Turning Point.” “I am extremely grateful for Chow Yun Fat’s praise. We are not friends and I do not know him personally. So I am very surprised he noticed my performance and mentioned my name. I have to thank Chow Yun Fat one thousand times! I need to have a greater measure of responsibility, as the world’s eyes are upon me now. I can not disappoint others. I must improve!”
Acting for the Long-Haul
Fala has high ambitions in the entertainment industry. “My dreams are very big; they are without any boundaries. Many people want to surpass what others have already achieved. I want to be like Claire Wai Ying Hung and receive recognition, while establishing a career [that spanned decades]. I do not mind playing supporting roles. From the beginning of my career, I have rarely played leading roles. If I can receive the public’s acknowledgment, then I do not mind playing a supporting role one hundred times.”
Love Life a Frequent Gossip Topic
Due to Fala’s nomination in 2010’s Hong Kong Film Awards, her love life became the media’s focus once again. Fala is currently dating, Sit Sai Hang. The Sit family owns Neway Karaoke, one of the most popular karaoke chains in Hong Kong. Fala did not have much to say about her relationship. “In the past, I never thought about hiding my dating life. I have no regrets in showing public affection with my boyfriend on the streets. However, since I am an actress, I do not have this freedom. If the paparazzi were to photograph us together and publish subsequent tabloid reports, this will affect our relationship. Thus, I am forced to handle our affairs in an understated manner.”
Fortunately, Fala has an understanding boyfriend. “It’s important that we have an understanding. In many areas of the world, when you have a good life and find someone you love, others would congratulate you. But in Hong Kong, once you earn some money, [people will imply that you are a ‘gold-digger.’] The paparazzi will [focus on the money aspect] and say you are dating a tycoon’s son, as if it was a ‘brand label.’ This will affect the relationship because no one wants to be labeled this way.”
Since Fala was interested in acting as a life-long career, what about her relationship with Sit Sai Hang? Fala smiled, “Love can not replace your career. Dating and marriage are important too. Whether for a man or woman, dating and marriage are part of life.”
After watching Charlene Choi and Ronald Cheng’s press conference, in which the pair explain their secret marriage and subsequent divorce, Fala was saddened. “I started crying after watching the news. Why does the paparrazzi have to mud-sling and claim that a third party triggered the divorce? The paparazzi has gone too far. We need to respect other people’s feelings. Charlene and Ronald were very brave to hold a press conference and come forward. They must have a reason for not revealing further details about their divorce.”
Whether Fala’s heart holds many secrets or not, we should not be in a hurry to find out. But we can see clues regarding her vision of marriage. Fala said, “I want to have children and will make plans for it.” As for the number of children, that will depend upon the physical condition of her body. “But I need to work, even after marriage. I will become crazy if I do not work.”
