Prior to Joe Ma's entry into showbiz, he was a police officer and has been in G4 (VIP Protection Unit) before. He protected several political figures including former governor, Chinese high official, and even Prince Charles and Princess Diana. This year is Queen Elizabeth's 60th anniversary on the throne and since Hong Kong used to be under British rule, the people of HK have a special feeling for royal family of England. Joe feels honored to have protected the Prince and Princess before! Joe had been with TVB for 18 years and gain recognition from Triumph in the Skies. He said it was all based on luck, even if it he's promoted to a Siu Sang, he still got no awards!

JOE: I was a police officer before I entered showbiz. At the time, I wanted to help my family out and thought police was a stabled job. Also, I was very passionate back then and wanted to contribute to society. After spending two years at the police training school, I graduated and became an uniform officer. I remember my first time on beat with a colleague and wrote the ticket wrong. That time, I thought being in the police was like what you see in those cop and robber movies, but I didn't encounter any big cases, it was quite peaceful.

The most frightening time was when I was chasing after a thief. Actually I'm considered athletic, but when you have to run in an uniform and carry a police duty belt, it is a different story. I really think the police uniform is set up all wrong, and we had to run in leather shoes while holding onto our cap too. The entire uniform is like over 10 pounds, it's basically impossible to catch the thief, so stupid! A year later, I switched to being an officer responsible for handling disturbances and demonstrations, but then after another year, I switched to being a police without the uniform. I still had to carry a gun, but never used it. People say it's a good thing. I used handcuffs before to detain the criminal though, but then I didn't feel it was challenging enough, so I applied into G4. At the time I was only 20 years old.

Protected Prince Charles and Princess Diana

G4 is primarily responsible for protecting political figures. I've protected Prince Charles and Princess Diana before, as well as former Singapore prime minister (Lee Kuan Yew), former Chinese high official and the former governor. I really think I'm lucky, since I could be on the same elevator as the royal family. Prince Charles is a gentleman, who gave me a strong feeling of nobility. Princess Diana is very nice and friendly. One time she was shopping in Central and asked me to carry her bags, but I said I cannot do that. She was very understanding and carried her own bags.

After 3 or 4 years in G4, I changed jobs and became a model. I was in the police force before, so I had and ideal body figure for a model. Then I encountered a TVB person and they told me its a good company. At the time, my salary as a police was HK$12,000, and at TVB it was only HK$9000, but there will be other income when your an artist, so I decided to sign a contract with them.

When I first entered TVB, they were preparing to shoot a Wynners' series The Chord to Victory and said I was going to be Kenny Bee or Anthony Chan, but that never happened. Wallace Chung took the role. My first official series was Heroes From Shaolin, I was a really annoying villain. Actually I never learned acting before, but what I remember most was one time we were shooting at a Buddhist monastery, I didn't know anything. Luckily Eddie Cheung and the other artists led me into character! The first few years at TVB, all of my roles were villains. I asked the producer why I'm the only one playing these roles? He said I'm tall and good as the antagonist.

18 Years with TVB, Didn't Get a Single TVB Award

I was in the industry for 7 years before I finally got to participate in 2000's The Threshold of an Era. Although I was still a villain, at least I got a supporting role. I was no longer in the third or fifth line. At least when I go out, there were reporters who wanted to interview me. That time, I still remember I had scenes opposite of Liza Wang, she is a very serious and a prepared person. She's always advising me and said that artists should always be aware of surroundings, even if I'm not working. I thought Ah Jeh (Liza) was very professional. She's definitely my idol and mentor!

Then I was given a role in Triumph in the Skies. It was my first time I got a taste of being popular. Later, when I was helping Flora Chan shoot an MV in Stanley, there were suddenly 30-40 students chasing after me. It turns out they just wanted to take pictures and get my autograph. TITS was such a success, but I didn't even get one My Favorite Character award at TVB. At the time of the anniversary awards, only 10 episodes aired and my scenes didn't come until after 20 something episodes. The next anniversary was already too far, so sometimes it's about luck. Actually Revolving Doors of Vengeance was a pretty popular hit too, but I still didn't get any awards. I've been with TVB for 18 years and didn't get a single award, even I think that is one of my regrets!

Joe Ma has been said to have vigorous peach blossoms (girls), indeed he has had countless rumors since his debut. Almost all of the female artists he had worked with gets a rumor with him. Of course, time proves everything, many of his so-called rumored girlfriends are in fact his good friends.

JOE: Many people call me a "FaDan Killer". Actually Moses Chan has that title too! Haha! Honestly, there are just two types of rumors in this industry, two artists are dating or two artists are on bad terms. Well, I rarely have any bad term rumors, it's usually just dating rumors!

I've worked with many actresses, such as Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan, Ada Choi, Charmaine Sheh, Sonija Kwok, Flora Chan, and many more. Let's talk a little bit about Ada Choi. She's a very good artist to learn from because she treats people very well. She makes the people around her feel comfortable and because I'm a Cancer and I've been a police officer before, I'm very defensive. That's why I don't have many friends, she is the one who opened me up.

I still remember one time we had to shoot early in the morning in the studio. That time I lived in Yuen Long, and couldn't awake up. At the time, I was shooting the series with her, so I called her right away. I told her I overslept and I'm flying over there. Ada heard this and immediately said: "Whatever you do, don't speed! I'll put on my makeup slowly and try to stall a little." Before she hangs up, she asked me if I had breakfast yet. She's really that good of a person!

As for Charmaine, I collaborated with her in several series. The first one should be in 2001 Country Spirit. People say she's always letting out her 'electricity', but I only feel one thing about her, she's just amazing. She is the only person I've seen that could withstand working overnight. We could get our days and nights confused, but she still manages to maintain the same good looks, nothing changes. She's an actress that never gets overworked! Sometimes we shoot continuously through the nights, she says she's very tired, but she still looks so awake and high spirited. I think she's just a natural beauty, haha! Also, Charmaine's EQ is extremely high. She has a very good temper and sometimes when she hears negative comments, she'll just laugh it off. You will never see her upset. This is the deepest impression Charmaine left on me.

Sonija Kwok is a person that can really eat. That time we were shooting for several months in Mainland. The environment in Mainland is pretty hard, but she didn't complained at all. She has a straightforward personality.

My wife in Triumph in the Skies, Flora Chan, she's actually technically my senior. That time, she was already very popular. She taught me a lot. I remember when we were shooting the first scene in TITS, it was pretty intimate. She said I don't have to mind at all, just put my hands on her. In fact, sometimes in kiss scenes, the actor is actually not unnatural than the actress. After all, men can easily get misunderstood. If the actress is as open as Flora, then you feel a lot more comfortable to do the scene.

Niki Chow's 33rd birthday, still an 18 year old inside

Yesterday Niki Chow, Mandy Wong and Vincent Wong started their first day of filming for TVB new series A Good Heart Goes Haywire. Tomorrow is Niki's 33rd birthday (August 30th), so Mandy and Vincent prepared a birthday cake to celebrate with her. The child star (Lam Wing Yu), who played the young Niki in Bottled Passion, brought a birthday gift for her as well.

Niki reveals her birthday is coincidentally on the same day as the Chinese Ghost Festival (July 14th, Lunar Calendar). She decided to celebrate with her family early and comforted herself: "Nothing is taboo for young people. Can't do anything about coincidences. As I get older, I don't want any big celebrations, but I still maintain a mental age of 18 years old! (Do you have to work on your birthday?) Yes! I didn't take a day off or anything, it would be best if the crew automatically gives me the day off. Actually the majority of my time is shooting with Bosco Wong, wait until he comes back to HK first, not sure when that is though. (Any pursuers that asked you out?) Nope, just friends and family taking up all my time. Also, I have a lot of jobs and I got a pimple today on my forehead as a gift!"

The single Niki reveals its not her first birthday without a boyfriend, so she's used to it. When speaking of her birthday wish, Niki smiled: "Don't ask me when I'm going to start dating, so stressful! But, if I'm really am dating and the relationship is stable, I would admit it. (Any one-night stands during your trip to Europe?) No! They are all people I know." Asked if she conveniently brought a wedding gift for her sister Kathy Chow, who is getting married next month? Niki expressed she didn't and avoided to respond to questions related to her sister's marriage. "I didn't schedule anything, just let her marry peacefully and happily! If she wants to say it, then she'll say it. I'm following orders, I cannot answer questions on her behalf."

Ron Ng & Tavia Yeung celebrates birthday together with over 100 fans

Ron Ng and Tavia Yeung celebrated their 33rd birthday together at a hotel with over 100 fans yesterday. They had a 20 table birthday banquet. To boost the atmosphere, Ron pointed to his cheek signaling Tavia to give him a birthday kiss. However, when speaking of people not accepting ex-girlfriend Viann and her new boyfriend Chen Li? Ron refused to respond: "I"m not commenting on other people! (Feel bad for her?) No. (Call and comfort her?) Not responding."

Ron said he will not respond to any questions relating to Viann anymore and will not comment on whether he will draw a line with her. He stressed he is currently just focused on work and won't think too much about relationships. Ron reveals on the day of his birthday, September 2nd, he will have to spend it through work. Asked if he'll feel lonely on his birthday? Ron calmly said: "It's about the same every year." He also said he hasn't played with Weibo in a long time: "I got a new phone and stopped going on Weibo." He also said he changed all of his personal passwords.

Tavia appeared very excited at the birthday party. When asked how rumored boyfriend Him Law will celebrate with her? She said: "I'm going to celebrate with my mom first. From what I know, Him has to shoot the pilot series [TITS2], he's very busy. (Do you want to get a ring from him?) I can't just accept that, but Ron gave me a ring before. (But you just said you can't just accept rings?) I think of Ron as a girl. (Tell Him he doesn't have to give you a ring?) When it's a suitable time." He's not suitable yet? Tavia immediately changed the subject: "Not sure if it's a good day today?" Also, asked if she'll comfort Ron? She said he's looking good and he gained weight too, no need to comfort him.

Tavia's birthday is on August 30th while Ron is on September 2nd.

Brief summary:

Former divas SEUNG YING HUNG (Liza Wang) and MIU SING HO (Gigi Wong) were initially colleagues under the same company, but for temporary superiority, the two end up fighting for 30 years and ruptures the relationship. If it wasn't for their teacher FUNG HAN MAN (King Sir) always in between them, they would basically cut off all relations. But the most satirical is HO's son CHIANG KA LONG (Chin Kar Lok) is in fact HUNG's son-in-law and HUNG's daughter lost her life from a miscarriage, which has left HUNG in deep sorrow. A wealthy girl HEUNG NAI HING (Eliza Sam) works as a reporter in the television station, suddenly appears by LONG's side and HO encourages her son to marry again to destroy HUNG. Meanwhile HUNG's son CHAK YAU SING (Him Law), who she had carefully raised to lead a successful life, unexpectedly falls in love with HO's renovation worker niece KWAI YI HEI (Mandy Wong). HUNG naturally self-destructs when she sees her son repeating history, becoming a clone of her daughter and LONG. CHAK and HEI's relationship triggers past hatred between HUNG and HO, while making it more complex at the same time. The two engage in a bitter and awful fight, leaving their children in a dilemma...

Pierre Ngo plans to be married in December; Hopes 'Rosy Business 3' actually happens

Wayne Lai, Kent Cheng, Pierre Ngo, Natalie Tong, Janet Chow and Vivien Yeo attended TVB new series King Maker promotional event. It was reported Pierre is planning to marry his girlfriend in Canada this September. Yesterday Pierre explained he's going to Canada for a stage performance in September, but his girlfriend is accompanying him on the trip to visit her parents and talk about the marriage. Pierre said: "We've been dating for 12 years, and have plans to tie the knot in December. (So rushed to get married, she's pregnant?) I wish, but no she's not pregnant. We are in a stabled relationship, and already agreed to keep our marriage low-key. We won't be holding a wedding banquet, just a simple dinner with family and friends (Will your parents be going to Canada too?) No, they are getting old." It was rumored Rosy Business III is starting in March next year, Pierre hoped the news is true too and will leave everything to TVB.

When asked about the average ratings for King Makers? Wayne said: "Last week's ratings were really just average because there hasn't been much happening in the story, but it will later start getting exciting. I hope the ratings will go back up by then."

In regards to the rumored Rosy Business III, will Wayne and Sheren Tang have the opportunity to work together again? Wayne admitted he did hear about the news that the series is going to start shooting next year. In the meantime, he'll be shooting a modern series in November first. Wayne expressed he knows a lot of people are anticipating to see the Rosy Business franchise and he also hopes the third installment will really happen as well. Whether if it's going to be the original cast or not, we will have to wait until next year to find out. Will you help call Sheren Tang back to participate in the series? Wayne laughed: "I'm not qualified to do that. Of course I do hope to work with her again, and whenever I have time now, I watch the re-runs of Rosy Business. I've discovered there were at least 12 commercials during the breaks, which is just as many as during the prime time hours. I have to ask TVB to give me some commission."

[Oriental Daily] contracted producer Lee Tim Shing to ask about the Rosy Business third installment. He said over the phone: "It's made up! I am planning to start a new series in February next year and do plan to cast Wayne Lai, but not Sheren Tang! If I were to choose a female lead, I would choose a newcomer, I'm considering JJ Jia or Christine Kuo! (Retiring?) This year I'm retiring, but I promised TVB that starting next year, I'll shoot one series per year. TVB said they wanted to start one in February, their really trying to rip me off!"

After signing with her new company, Niki Chow returns to TVB later this month to start shooting new series A Good Heart Goes Haywire, where she plays a policewoman once again. Niki said: "It's different this time, I got promoted to senior inspector." Niki expressed this series is a challenge for her because it's her first time shooting a 30 episode series and they have to shoot in the summer. Whether if its her acting or physical ability, it is a challenge. Although she already has experience being a policewoman, she is still in the spirit of learning. Niki laughed: "Initially I thought I could take advantage of this opportunity to change my hairstyle and get my hair cut short. But then the director said they're not looking for a tomboy policewoman, and even ordered me to grow my hair as long as possible in order to bring out the femininity."

As she'll be shooting this series for a full 3 months, Niki joked: "I don't have to be dry anymore because I have the matured '3 Gor' (Michael Miu) and the 'young woman killer' Bosco Wong. (Bosco just broke up with Myolie Wu?) When we accepted this series, that didn't happen yet! (Bosco often has intense kiss scenes with his co-stars, will you avoid those scenes during this sensitive period to prevent rumors?) That is not what a professional artist does. After all, if it's necessary for the plot, then we'll do it. What's most important is that I have the ability to portray the role and have a good explanation for the producer. Can't think too much about gossips and rumors."

In the new series, Niki is involved in a love triangle with Michael Miu and Bosco Wong, but when speaking of Niki being an actual love triangle in real life? Niki frankly expressed: "I don't have two guys to choose from. This series satisfies me completely, I believe I'll be very moist in the next three months. I will enjoy my time being entangled between the two men and no longer have to be dry." In real life, Niki frankly said she doesn't get affected by situational pressure and rush to find a boyfriend just because she has to marry and have children.

Her sister Kathy Chow is finally getting married. Niki happily said: "I'm so relieved now that she's getting married. So happy! (Afraid you can't get married?) No, modern women have nothing to fear. It is a matter if I want to or not. What I'm happy about is that my sister is going to unfold a new page in life." Niki anticipates to see her sister become a mother the most. She wants to see the motherly love side of her. She said: "I think she'll become a mother very soon. I believe she's not far from this phase in life."

Myoile Wu supports Francis Ng scolds people for a reason

Yesterday Myolie Wu attended the promotional event for TVB series Ghetto Justice II. It was announced that the ratings for Monday-Thursday of this week averaged 32 points and peaked at 39 points. Myolie said: "After the Olympics ended, the ratings started going up again. Perhaps last week it wasn't as good, but I hope the final week could set a new record. Kevin Cheng will be back to treat us all a meal, but I don't know if he'll be back in HK for the finale."

Recently, Myolie has been busy shooting for Triumph in the Skies II. As her role is considered an athletic female, she will have several biking and jogging scenes, which has also helped her lose weight. Regarding to Francis Ng, earlier while shooting outdoor scenes, he scolded people in public. Myolie said: "We haven't had any scenes yet, but I believe he won't yell at me. Maybe because Francis is an artist, so his emotions goes up and down." When asked if there's any method she can calm Francis down? Myolie laughed: "I will make a run for it. Running away is the best method! (You already seen Francis' temper in the first installment?) He only does it based on the situation, not on any specific person. That time, we were all inexperienced and young. He didn't yell at us just because he wanted to. If there wasn't Francis, then there wouldn't be me today. He is considered my first mentor, I can withstand his scolding." Asked if she's afraid of being scolded now? She laughed: "No, if I get scolded at now, I'll die. I don't think it will happen!"

EEG thought of not signing Raymond Lam due to tardiness & no Chok look

Yesterday Raymond Lam held a press conference to promote his new album Self Portrait at The Peninsula Hotel. The event organizer invited Raymond to kick off with an ice breaking ceremony. It was announced since Raymond joined EEG, he released 6 Cantonese albums, 1 Mandarin album and 3 concert DVDs, which sold over 1 million copies. However, when EEG executive Ng Yue recalled the past when he first met with Virgina Lok and Raymond at The Peninsula Hotel, Ng Yue exposed: "On our first meeting, Raymond was late and he didn't have the Chok look. He only came in a wet look (at the time it was raining). That time I was thinking if don't want to sign the contract, then forget it!"

Raymond explained that day he had to work prior to the meeting and it was raining, so he was late. He stressed: "At the time, I was very busy with my work. I ran around to several different locations all in one day, very rushed. It wasn't that ridiculous as everyone makes it sound!" He reveals for the concert he's holding in January, he has invited a male singer, who he rarely collaborates with, to be his guest performer. Raymond hopes that male singer will have time for him.

When asked if he'll invite rumored girlfriends Karena Ng and Yuxi Liu to his concert? He said: "I welcome all my friends to come. If truly are friends, then will support no matter what. You all know how I am, there is no need to comment any further on the rumors. You all can say whatever you want." When asked if he'll give his new album to the two rumored girlfriends? He said supportive friends will buy it, but every time he has a new album, he buys a batch himself to give to colleagues and seniors in the music industry.

Although Raymond often has rumors with female artists, he will not deliberately keep his distance. "Rumors are necessary in the entertainment circle. Just as long as it does not get too over the line, then just think of it as promotion! In the future, if I'm in a relationship, I won't deliberately try to hide it, let nature take its course." He also reveals, he is busy shooting a new 3D film, and fears he may get injured from shooting the jumping-off-the-building scene.

Episode 1 to 25:

An online game freak, Kenneth Ma (Szema Shun 司馬信) is sent through time to the Three Kingdoms period of China history when a super typhoon hits the city where he lives.

While in the Three Kingdoms, Kenneth was thrilled to come face-to-face with his long time idol – accomplished strategist Raymond Lam (Chukot Leung 諸葛亮) who was working under Joseph Lee (Lau Bei 劉備). Kenneth had a great time in the Three Kingdoms lecturing the historic figures on strategic planning in war, instilling HK culture and the way they speak creating a hilarious effects.

Despite the happiness, Kenneth also suffered from home sickness and wanted to return back to the modern world. The only form of communciation is through SMS in his mobile phone with his sister to enquire about when the gate to the modern world will be opened.

While awaiting the gate to open, he met imperial maid Tavia Yeung (Song-yau 桑柔) and taught her about the freedom to love which is applicable in HK. This cause Tavia to broke her arranged marriage as she wanted to have the opportunity to choose. Kenneth and Tavia spent some time together and Kenneth even sang a love song to her causing Tavia to misunderstand Kenneth and fell in love with him. While Kenneth have a more open mind towards relationship, Tavia being an ancient woman is very faithful to the one she love and will not love others anymore. The pair finally separated when Kenneth revealed that he does not love Tavia.

Besides the love relationship aspects of the drama, there were a few major events that happened in the Three Kingdoms. One is the retreat to Jiang Xia where Joseph led his men and people to escape from Law Lok-lam (Cho Cho 曹操). The most hilarious part is where Joseph third sworn brother, Savio Tsang (Cheung Fei 張飛) create a huge uproar at the bridge which subsequently collapsed causing Law Lok-lam's men to retreat.

Another is the merger of Joseph Lee and Pierre Ngo (Suen Kuen 孫權) against Law Lok-lam. It is noticeable that there will be competition between the two strategists, Ruco Chan (Chow Yu 周瑜) who is Pierre's strategist and Raymond. Ruco being the leader, tried to make things difficult for Raymond by asking him to produce 100,000 arrows in a month which was impossible. The problem was finally resolved by "borrowing" arrows from Law Lok-lam thus receiving praises from Pierre. This increased Ruco's jealousy.

The merger was quite smooth initially but was shaken when Kenneth Ma discovered a secret which concerned Pierre Ngo. Coupled with Ruco's pressure, Joseph and Raymond Lam have no choice but to send Kenneth away as his life is at stake.

While Kenneth was running for his life, he was injured by Ruco's army and was fortunately saved by Tavia. During that time, Kenneth developed real feelings for Tavia but Tavia ignored him. While he had recovered, he was surrounded by Law Lok-lam's army who captured him as they wanted him to be strategist for Law Lok-lam.

To make Kenneth more faithful and reliable, Law Lok-lam also captured Tavia and held her as hostage. In the final battle at the Red Cliff, Kenneth suggested to Law Lok-lam to chain up their battle ships together which was going according to Ruco's plan. The plan was to round up the battle ships and prevent them from escaping when they put out the fire where it will spread rapidly due to the aid of the wind.

During the last battle, the time gate opened and Kenneth wanted Tavia to go back with him to HK. Unfortunately, only Kenneth managed to return back. During the adventure in Three Kingdoms, it was noticed that Kenneth personality changes from being regarded as a good-for-nothing in the modern world, to someone who had reborn after coming back.

Eventually after 30 years, Tavia finally make it to the modern world but was disappointed to see the old and frail Kenneth died due to heart attack where she wept silently.

My thoughts:
Sad ending same as Witness Insecurity but I feel that the ending is much more smoother in Three Kingdoms RPG. A rather interesting show as I learned more about the history of China and there were some rather lame scenes in the drama. Overall, good to watch if you have the time. Do feel free to voice out your thoughts about this drama. Thank you. ^_^

Mandy Wong interviews Kenneth Ma on Acting and Dating

Known as the second 'seun poon' (best deal) in the industry, TVB Siu Sang Kenneth Ma is quite stubborn when it comes to love. He does not believe in love at first sight and refuses to just choose a girlfriend based on her looks. Everything starts from friendship. As for Mandy Wong, she also believes the most important in a relationship is communication. Although she's been through a failed relationship, she's has not been discouraged.

K - Kenneth Ma ; M - Mandy Wong

K: I thought you were a gentle girl before I met you because Miss HK are the ring of light, beauty and wisdom are important qualities. However, after I met you, based on your personality, I wondered why you decided to run for Miss HK and not just directly enter the Artistes Training Class.

M: When Triumph in the Skies was airing, I was still a flight attendant and back then I had a small crush on you. After I entered the industry, I had pleasant collaborations. Before I collaborated with you, I thought you didn't speak much, but after getting to know you, I found out you are actually very flirty. However, overall you are easy-going and don't have an attitude. You are more than willing to share your personal experiences with your juniors and peers. It's very comfortable.

K: In terms of acting, I think you are pretty flexible and from your appearance, many different roles fit you. Your not just limited to gentle and nice girls, but you can also be bitchy. There are many FaDans in TVB who have limitations because of their appearance and voice.

M: Well then, after collaborating with me in The Hippocratic Crush, what was most memorable for you?

Flirty Kenneth, No Complaints

K: You kissed me! I remember that day, you were so nervous. Perhaps you don't have many scenes where you kiss the boy, so I tried the lighten up the atmosphere as best as I could. I joked and said it be best if you kissed me a few more times!

M: I wasn't that nervous, I was scared though because I had to take the initiative. You have a strong fan base, I was afraid they would hate me. Usually I won't initiate kisses, but in the series, I had to take initiative for both you and Benjamin Yuen. That moment, I had to convince myself first.

K: I thought your kiss with Benjamin Yuen was more natural, maybe because you did the scene with me first, and with that experience, you were able to pick up faster.

M: Why do you flirt with girls in every series?

K: I just want them to feel more relaxed! Earlier when I was shooting Tiger Cubs with JJ Jia, she was very nervous because she had to wear sexy clothing, so I just tried to compliment her.

M: What happens when you actually want to pursue a female artist? Then she won't trust you because you treat every girl the same way.

K: Well she will feel it from on my serious eye expressions. Girls are very sensitive, but after all this time, I haven't had any complaints.

M: Why don't you tell us more about your acting experiences. I think you can handle any kind of role. From a good boy to a villain, you are okay. There is a large range in my roles, and I would get into that character for several months too. How about you?

K: Me too, but I never had a time where I couldn't pull myself out of the character. A lot of the acting skills are paved out. There is no special image for artists that is most advantageous to them. When you have no shackles, then you would do anything, so I don't mind how people think of me.

Been Scolded Unpleasantly By Others

M: Have anyone ever scolded you with unpleasant words?

K: Of course, when I first debuted, people scolded me with profanity too. Perhaps they were someone else's fan, so they attacked me, but I was still very calm. I just smiled and moved on. Every artist has been scolded before. Even Film Kings get scolded by people, so don't get too into what the public says.

M: Then you must teach me. Because of my roles from L'Escargot and The Hippocratic Crush, I had a lot of people yelling at me. At first, I wasn't used to it and felt unhappy. I thought people were yelling at me, but later because the series started changing, so people liked me again. So, sometimes I think its best not to look at the comments.

K: Just see it as a joke. You have to stay open-minded. There are a lot of other things attached to artists, such as getting scolded by the public and followed by the media, it's all included in the salary you get. No matter how good your image is, there will always be people that don't like you! If you can't accept it, then you might want to get another job.

Peaceful Breakups, Never Had a Painful Relationship

M: How did you pursue girls before?

K: She can see my coherent behavior. I don't really have any tactics, I'm pretty boring actually. Each time, my girlfriend naturally starts off as a friend. Rarely do I have love at first sight, I have to at least get to know her for some time first and it's not about good looks for me. I will start from her personality and if we get along. Whether if we match or not, that is the most important. Even if she's beautiful, I'll eventually get bored!

M: What tactics do you have?

K: Just start by going out, watching a movie and having dinner. The more we chat the more we get to know each other, I don't mind if people see us on the streets. You have to go out if you want to meet friends. It wouldn't be good to ask her to go to your house on the first day. That will frighten her.

M: Then what?

K: It just naturally happens, hold her hand! I personally don't like places with too many people. If a girl is with me, I like to be at home more. The majority of my ex-girlfriends, they were okay with it. Some would really insist, but small matters, just try to accommodate as much as possible. For bigger issues, we have to have the same views. I am definitely not a 'big man'.

M: You're a 'woman soup ball' (it means popular among women, a man that knows how to please women)

K: You're the first person to compliment like that.

M: There are many ways to describe a 'woman soup ball'. Some people use their mouth or try to seduce. You're an easy going person. One time, when I was eating with you, you said you liked girls that have a lot to say.

K: If we are both mute, then that's a huge problem. Often times, my girlfriend are more talkative than I am.

M: Your not afraid of noisy girls?

K: Well I have to see to what extent. Sometimes I like peace and quiet, then the girl will have to accommodate that.

M: I'm very good at that and very easy-going. I know how to watch for the situation. Before, it was really difficult for me to start from friends, but now I'm slowly accepting it. I can get to know the person first. Fate is very important too, chemistry can be slowly developed.

K: I haven't had a really painful relationship before, usually its peaceful break ups. There will definitely be times where a couple gets into arguments, even when the fight gets intense, I won't beat women. When something is wrong, I don't speak up. I just say a few words, and to express my dissatisfaction, I don't speak. I don't know how long it would take for me to calm down, maybe it'll take a really long time, but I would take initiative to please her again, unless the problem is hard to patch up.

M: That's good. You know how to look at the big picture. Have you failed to pursue a girl before?

K: Usually if I can't pursue her, then I'll stop.

M: Why? You're a seun poon! (it means best deal)

K: I know myself. Some guys pursue any type of girl, but I won't! Sometimes I'm scared, seun poon is just what people say to be polite.

M: I'm very healthy, haven't been hurt from a relationship before.

K: Have you dated before? Your only rumor is Him Law!

M: I've been out for 10 years! I've been in a relationship before.

K: How long ago?

M: I already entered the industry. In fact, I benefited from each relationship. That time, we were in different positions. Some people ask me whether I would choose a boyfriend from the industry or out of the industry. Basically I don't have an answer, just as long as we click. My ex-boyfriend really tried to please me, treated me like a princess, but looking back, I would like better communication. When two people cannot chat about the innermost feelings, but its all just spiritual satisfaction, then its really hard to continue the relationship. But, I don't know how we dated for 4 years.

Epilogue

Mandy and Kenneth, one is optimistic and the other is quiet. Theoretically, it would be hard for them to click, but never thought when they come together, there is chemistry between them. That day during the photo shoot, Mandy kept trying to get Kenneth to play with her, pretending to kiss and making all sorts of silly poses. Not long after, she was able to melt the boring Kenneth. During the interview, Kenneth instantly turned into a chatterbox and showed the humorous side of him. This was all accomplished by Mandy!

'Sergeant Tabloid' plot exposed, TVB re-edits entire series for HK Broadcast

TVB series Sergeant Tabloid has been a hot topic even before its broadcast in HK. The series was originally scheduled to air in HK this month (August), but because the plot involved Mainland 'non-citizen' pregnant women and estate supremacy issues; the series released overseas and on Mainland streaming site PPS; and the series was illegally uploaded on Tudou, Youtube and other websites, TVB decided to push back the HK release and air Liza Wang and Gigi Wong's Divas In Distress instead. Although we don't know if the delay was related to the exposure of the plot, but to prevent producer Nelson Cheung's Sergeant Tabloid from doing poorly in HK, TVB came up with an all new ending, recorded a theme song and re-edited the entire series.

Since Sergeant Tabloid had already released overseas earlier this April, which exposed the storyline and Netizens complained there wasn't enough on the romantic storylines, producer Nelson Cheung decided to give the series a 'makeover' and re-edit the entire series adding more scenes on the leading actor and actress relationship as requested by Netizens. Nelson said: "Whether if its the story development or the scenes, it is going to be re-edited entirely to accommodate viewers' taste. We will add more scenes on Niki Chow and Michael Tse's relationship, and put the previously deleted Mandy Wong and Matthew Ko scenes. There will also be other new additions, in short, many of the never-before-seen scenes will be on the HK version of Sergeant Tabloid. Finally, we also did an all new ending for viewers to choose from, which can only seen by the HK audience."

Lead actress Niki Chow expressed she looks forward to see the all new HK version of Sergeant Tabloid, she said: "The new ending is confidential. Audience can just slowly relax and enjoy the series. The series touches on many sensitive topics, like the Mainland 'non-citizen' pregnant women and the chief executive, those parts were deleted in the overseas version. I really hope audience will be able to see those scenes, that's how it remains original!" Earlier Niki put her 18 pound policewoman uniform back on for the new ending shooting, no wonder she wants the series to air in HK as soon as possible, so the local audience can see her achievement.

Janet Chow risks miscarriage, asks Chris Lai to carry her

Yesterday Wayne Lai, Kent Cheng, Kristal Tin, Janet Chow, Chris Lai, Elaine Yiu, Pierre Ngo and Natalie Tong appeared in their ancient costumes for the promotion of TVB new series King Maker. Lead actors Wayne and Kent put in the most effort into the promotion. Aside from arm wrestling each other, the two played tug-a-war with Kristal and Elaine. Everyone was worried about the pregnant Janet Chow, although Chris took good care of her, she saw the cast having so much fun playing and she wanted to join too, so she asked Chris to carry her. Wonder if her husband Timmy Hung will freak out when he sees that.

Yesterday Janet's growing belly was much more visible than her last public appearance. She said: "My stomach is growing fast. Friends have told me not to eat too much. Timmy is currently out working, as his wife, I don't want him to worry. Last night, I had dinner at Charmaine Sheh's house with a large group of friends. I chatted with Annie Man about our pregnancy experiences and even went shopping online for baby products. (Does Charmaine envy you?) I don't know, but I did urge her to start dating soon, but I won't introduce any guys to her because it feels awkward." Janet reveals her expected due date is February 5, 2013. She already chose the date to get a C-section, but if she's due earlier, she will go for a natural birth.

As the cast for King Makers is similar to The Greatness of a Hero? Wayne said: "Because there is a shortage of artists at TVB, but the story is different. This time Kent and I will have a lot of battle of wits scenes. He's the evil one, and I'm the good guy. (Film King challenges TV King?) Of course, the co-star is very important. Kent is very talented."

Kenneth Ma won't be a sinner blocking Myolie Wu & Bosco Wong from reconciling

On the 13th day since Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong announced their break up, ending their 8 year relationship, more and more rumors are circulating. Following the public's speculation that Bosco had a third party, there were rumors that Myolie was strongly pursued by Taiwanese actor "TTV's Big Brother" Eric Huang. Yesterday it was rumored that TVB's 'good deal #2' (seun poon), Kenneth Ma, successfully won Myolie's heart after shooting new series Seasons of Love with her. However, Kenneth was afraid he'll become a sinner blocking Myolie and Bosco from reconciling, so yesterday he quickly explained: "Please don't misunderstand, I don't dare to pursue Myolie."

Myolie and Kenneth play a couple in the new series Seasons of Love, the two have intimate scenes as well as a CPR scene. It was said 7 years ago when they collaborated in To Grow With Love, Kenneth was already pursuing Myolie, but it wasn't until Seasons of Love that he was successful. Yesterday Kenneth was shooting an outdoor scene for the new series and when asked about his successful pursuit of Myolie? He denied several times. He said: "Of course I can't pursue Myolie, don't speak nonsense. I'm afraid I might become a sinner. I know many fans want Myolie and Bosco to get back together, I don't want to get in between them. I'm afraid fans will scold me!" When asked if he expects the two to get back together? Kenneth said: "The most important is their happiness, outsiders should not comment too much."

Kenneth expressed everyone is worried about Myolie and now that she's single again, many are impatient for her. However, we should all just let her calm down and take things slowly, he said: "Perhaps because we're a couple in Seasons of Love that caused these imaginations that we're actually together." Kenneth expressed the intimate photos that the magazine published were part of the series. He also does not have a Weibo account, so there is no way he could have 'transferred love' through Weibo. When asked if he'll start pursuing later? Kenneth said: "No! Please don't misunderstand, I don't dare to pursue her, Myolie is too good!"

It was said earlier when Myolie went with Kenneth and Ruco Chan to Singapore for promotions, they were already playing like there was no one around. Kenneth said: "The three of us had a great time. I learned of Myolie and Bosco's break up the same time as the public, Myolie appears professional during shooting and has not let her emotions affect her." Kenneth laughed: "I won't avoid collaborating with Myolie again just because of these rumors. We are also in Triumph in the Skies II, but we're not a couple. When the time comes, perhaps there will be new rumors that I'm pursuing Elena Kong!" Regarding to the rumor that he only pursues the middle-aged women? Kenneth expressed he just laughed it off and treats it as promotion for the series.

Yesterday Myolie was shooting the last scene for Seasons of Love and was asked about the rumor with Kenneth. She laughed: "I don't feel Kenneth is trying to pursue me at all. We are colleagues, the rumor is just too funny." She praised Kenneth's good qualities, but she does not want turn the relationship into such a complicated one. She said it's best to think of all these rumors as little stories. "I am concentrated on my work. I can still be very happy now that I'm single again."

Fala Chen - Have Enough Courage for Change

Some people often put 'Change' at the tip of their tongue, but often there are no actions made. On discussion forums, Fala Chen is known as 'Fala BB', a goddess who is already standing firm in TV and film, and recently became a singer. Aside from going after the TV Queen award, she's not even going to let go of the Most Popular Female Singer! Fala said before she had no ambitions, but she's actually been the choir since youth and had dreams of becoming a singer. This dream started even before her wish to be TV Queen: "I really like to sing. I wanted to be a singer earlier on. From middle school to college, I've been a member in the choir and always go out for performances. I really enjoyed it."

Solo Unfolds Her True Self

Chorus and solo are two different things. Fala's love for solo singing started from chorus: "When I was studying in college, I was very busy, but no matter how busy I was, I still wanted to sing in the choir! That time, I started doing musicals and had a solo, it was one of the happiest moments in my life!" Reality is cruel, after entering the entertainment circle, Fala participated in at least three series per year, and she had commercials and other stage performances: "I was really busy the last several years, didn't even have time to eat. Luckily I had a few opportunities to do stage performances and sing. It was not only then that people discovered that Fala can sing! In fact, it's really about fate that I could be a singer, TVB had been helping me find a record company all along and at the same time Stars Shine wanted to recruit singers. Stars Shine really has put in a lot of resources on me. They didn't care whether if they would make any money or not. I knew this opportunity isn't bad, and if I miss it, I don't know when there will be another opportunity!"

Charging into TV, Film & Music

In the past, Fala only sang other people's songs. Today, she has her own songs and excitedly said: "It feels good! It's like a dream to have my own songs! I know I'm still far from being a professional singer, but I didn't know how to act before either. It's through all the training, that I am where I am today. I have confidence that I can do it! As an actress, I pretend to be someone else, but as a singer, I can be myself and truly display the real Fala!" She believed success or failure does not lie in whether if she makes money or not: "Does it have to be that my album sells well and that my songs are a great hit, that I'm considered successful? If I don't try new things, then how will I know if I can do it or not? Becoming a singer is a dream of mines, now that my dream has come true, I have nothing to lose!" When asked if she does well in both the TV and music scene, how will she choose between the two? The greedy Fala said: "Are there any heavenly kings or superstars that don't find a balance in different fields? I really hope one day I can have agony on whether I should be a singer or an actress, I would tell myself, I want to do both!"

[Excerpt from Apple Daily] Nowadays singers' standards can really be heavily criticized, Teresa Carpio once said being a singer is easy, but they may not necessarily know how to sing. Fala agrees. First time performing live on JSG, she was very nervous and resulted in heavy criticisms on her getting off-key. Fala views this experience as a benefit: "When I sang live at events before, I sang other people's songs to entertain the audience, that's not as stressful because I wasn't a singer then. Many times, my thoughts about a performance is the same as acting. If I can't concentrate and get into character and the story, then I won't be able to cry. On JSG that time, I learned a lesson that I must have a 100% good performance in the future. If I'm not at the right state before going on stage, then I will start feeling afraid on stage. Soon after, that same week, I performed live again and I did better. My heart was not beating as fast, haha. It feels like after the first kiss. On the second kiss, you won't feel as nervous!"

Fala learned a lesson and reflected on it. She knows she needs time to improve: "Reality won't allow me to be like Teresa Carpio, train for several decades, so I can only do my best and learn from each experience and make improvements. I believe even a person who really knows how to sing, being on stage for the first time, they will be very nervous as well." [Apple Daily]

Epilogue: Beautiful and Sweet Voice

The frequent saying: "a beautiful person with a sweet voice", just how good is the beautiful Fala's singing voice? [Oriental Daily] reporter asked Fala to perform something quick live on the spot for her to listen to, so she could record it as a ringtone. Fala hummed Bird Has Fallen. (English equivalent: London Bridges Is Falling Down) Fala's high notes were sweet, medium notes were accurate and her low notes were strong! This became the reporter's ringtone! Fala's debut album Beautiful Life releases today, July 31, 2012.
