Brief summary:
AU YEUNG WAI-LAN (Yuen Qiu), owner of a martial arts training school, is reunited with her long-lost son KOO YU-CHEUNG (Kevin Cheng) after years of agonizing separation. On his return home, CHEUNG is shocked to find that his younger brother KOO YU-TONG (Ma Kwok Ming) has been critically ill and that his father was murdered long ago by WING TAK (Lam Ka Wah), the existing director of a pharmaceutical company and a bitter old foe of the KOOs. CHEUNG has never been into kung-fu but shows glimpses of his potential when he strikes back at the impudent, arrogant WING MAN-KWAN (Jacky Heung), also the son of TAK. Pinning all her hopes on CHEUNG, LAN not only teaches him a special set of kung-fu skills created by the family, but also registers for him for the Guangdong Boxing Championship Tournament. Out of the blue, CHEUNG's opponent in the final turns out to be KWAN.
CHEUNG starts losing his bearings after achieving growing success and recognition in the field of martial arts. Caught up in the love triangle between LAN's apprentice YING NGAN-MING (Natalie Tong), his dream girl CHOW MUI-MUI (Nancy Wu) and himself, CHEUNG is utterly confused and exhausted, which later causes his failure in the final tournament.

My thoughts:
Does this story plot looks similar to the "Master of Taichi"? Anyone wonders what Selena Li is acting as? She would be pairing up with Kenneth Ma again. The pairing is perfect as seen in "The Four" and "Master of Taichi". Tavia would be guest starring in this series acting as a young version of Yuen Qiu.

Episode 1 to 20:
Kate Tsui (Ko Ching Man 高青雯) emerges as Hong Kong beauty pageant and joins the entertainment circle. In the beginning, she was a fan of Christine Ng (Keung Chin Fung 姜展鳳), a famous actress and constantly praises her acting skills. However, both Kate and Christine showed distaste towards each other as Christine found out that Kate was the daughter of Kingdom Yuen (Cheung Lai Hung 張麗虹) who was her bitter rival in the entertainment circle before Kingdom met with an "accident" that caused her to leave the entertainment circle.
It was later found out by Kate and Kingdom that Christine actually caused the accident and caused Kingdom's partial handicapped. The case was sent to court, however Christine was not implicated as her accomplice, Joey Mak (To Dung 杜登) covered up for her and said that he was the mastermind of this incident. In the end, he was sent to jail and Christine was scot-free. Meanwhile, Kate realised that Kingdom's intolerable treatment towards Christine was the root of the accident and was starting to reduce her resentment towards her.
The only best friend that Kate had in the entertainment circle is Sharon Chan (Tang Ho Yee 唐可兒 Cally). However, their friendship was brought to the test when both get a part in a movie that has 2 female lead. Cally wanted to eliminate Kate's part so that she will be the main star.
Christine exposed the truth to Kate who refused to believe her initially until Sharon slapped Kate when she mistakenly thought Kate revealed her secret of pretending to be rich in front of the media and leaving her parents in a low-down house.

Sharon's boyfriend also Director of the TV station, Chris Lai (Chong Dik Kun 莊迪勤 Deacon) left her as he could not tolerate the change in Sharon too.
Kate was utterly heartbroken and Christine constantly comforted her. Mutual trust and bond between them became strong. Through this incident, Christine sees it as an opportunity to eliminate two rising stars and she began to take Kate under her wing, slowly planning to bring her into a moral downfall. Christine pretends to be kind and even offered to regard Kate as her god-sister. As they grow closer, she begins tempting Kate with drugs and money.
As Kate becomes more and more scheming, she no longer trusts anyone and thinks everyone had betrayed her. In order to bring Christine to her downfall, she collaborated with Wong Cho Lam (Yuen Kwok Fun 袁國勳) and exposed Christine's relationship with Chris's father who is the CEO of an Advertising Company.
What Kate did not expected was Chris's mother was also caught cheating on Chris's father. The pictures and videos were taken. Kate struggled to expose the news to the media as she knew that Chris would broke up with her if he knew it was she who broke her family up. In the end, Kate selfishly handed the pictures to the media.
Christine's image and reputation was utterly ruined as the audience viewed her as a mistress who teared the family apart. Her parts in the series was reduced by a lot and replaced by Kate's parts. As Kate's acting career takes off, Christine became desperate for everlasting beauty and injects her face with botox in an attempt to slow the aging process. However, Christine's face begins changing shape and her cosmetic endorsements with many companies are cut and being replaced by Kate. Even the best actress award, that she has won for 3 years in a row, are slipping out of Christine's hands.
To vent her anger, Christine vowed to plunge Kate into a pit of despair and pain. She got someone to disfigured Kate which affected her emotionally as she could not continue acting as appearance is very important in the entertainment circle.
Kate was in despair and left home. Meanwhile, Sharon was highly addicted to drugs and roams the street. She began to lost her senses and climbs up to the building due to the effect of the drug. Luckily, Kate saved her life and pulled her out of the danger zone.
In the end, both Kate and Sharon learnt their lesson and Kate continued acting with the support of her mother who also returned back to the TV station while Sharon went to the drug rehabilitation centre and she successfully overcome the influence of drugs.

At the last few episodes, Christine returned with her regained look and endorsement backing from Korea's cosmetic company. She challenged both Kate and Kingdom and made sarcastic remarks on their series. At the award ceremony, Christine was very keen to get the best actress award again but was worried about the remark made by Chris's father that Kate would claim the award. Out of impulse, she dragged Kate with a knife to the rooftop. She revealed her schemes of straining the relationship between Kate and Sharon, pretending to be nice to Kate and getting someone to disfigure Kate. She even go to the extent of dragging Kate to the side of the rooftop and wanted her dead.
In the end, Christine accidentally fell from the building and cause her to become handicapped for life. The winner of the best actress was actually Christine and if she had not believe what other people says and doubt her acting skills, she would have claim the award and not lying in the hospital bed. A very costly lesson taught to her that scheming your way through and not believe in the skills you possessed will suffer a very heavy penalty. Just be yourself is the way.
My thoughts
I felt very touched at the last few episodes when both Kate and Sharon are left with nothing but their families who had given them all the emotional support during their hard times. The so call "Good" friends left them as soon as they are in trouble. Life is realistic. Quite a good story about how drugs tear a person apart and its effects. Oh, if any of you wonder who Chris end up with, it's Sharon.
I also like the scheming part between Kate, Sharon and Christine. Pls feel free to comment your thoughts after watching this drama. ^_^

My thoughts:
A rather short drama with only 13 episodes. Not much cast in the drama. With John Chiang in the series, it looks like A chip off the old block and the background setting would be similar I guessed. Pls feel free to post your comments. ^_^
Brief summary:
In search of the last model for his painting "Nine Pretty Women", acclaimed scholar TONG PAK FU (Moses Chan) goes on a trip to Hangzhou with his ardent disciple WAT KEI (Lee Sze Chit). While there, he meets a pretty young maid from WAH's Residence, CHAU HEUNG (Myolie Wu). FU is mesmerized by HEUNG's beauty and martial agility and falls in love with her right away. In order to approach the girl, he disguises as a servant and assumes the pseudonym WAH ON, seeking to win her affections with his talent and ingenuity. But contrary to his wishes, HEUNG is unmoved and even harbours an intense dislike for him after a series of misunderstandings. Master of the family WAH HUNG SHAN (Ha Yu) knew from the very beginning that FU is not a common man. By the time his true identity is revealed, the scholar has already developed a close bond with the whole of the family, except HEUNG.
In the meantime, Prince LING (Tsang Wai Kuen), who has been attempting to rebel against Emperor CHING TAK (Lai Lok Yi), has managed to involve FU in his conspiracy by stratagem, thus getting the man and the WAHs into big trouble. LING's daughter CHU TING YUK (Fala Chen) is in love with FU. Desperate to save her dream man, she forces LING to release FU by threatening to kill herself. YUK's consuming passion for FU seems to have caused a ripple of unease in HEUNG, who is starting to feel a little twinge of jealousy inside.
My thoughts:
A new pairing of Moses and Myolie. I guess this drama is a comedy, hope that it will be a good laugh. The storyline looks quite original but I am interested in Myolie's showing dislike for Moses and becoming a couple after that. Pls comment if any. ^_^

He changes his name to KAN LIK SHUN (Wong Chung Chak, Bosco), and he hits stardom almost overnight. The magical chocolates have a time limit though. My thoughts:
I really like this plot very much. It seems very interesting where you eat a chocolates, its like all your dreams come true and you can change your appearance...... How I wish such chocolates exist in this world, even Wong Cho Lam would agree with me I guess. Did I get it wrong? Wong Cho Lam didn't eat the chocolate with no time limit in the end? Such a pity.... It would be nice to see Bosco pairs up with Kate Tsui. Pls feel free to post any comment. ^_^
Why am I promoting 72 Tenants of Prosperity? Heard that it receives rather low ratings. However, I feel that TVB fans should catch this show to show support to your favourite Actors and Actresses. Moreover, this show is one of the rare movie whereby more than half of the cast are TVB Actors and Actresses. Support the show if you want. 0_0 Wished all Justvb Supporters Happy Chinese New Year and a Year of Prosperity. Pls post comments especially if you had watch the show. : )
Note: Exams are coming sooner than I thought.... Justvb will be on hiatus again until 5 March 2010. Thanks for your continued support. ^_^
Brief summary:
Pharmaceutical company employee CHING SUM (Miu Kiu Wai) has an overbearing wife, KO LAI SUM (Cheung Ho Yee, Maggie). In order not to fight head-on with her, he has been playing ostrich in their seven years of marriage. LAI SUM, however, has never stopped watching his move, as she always believes he is fooling around behind her back. SUM's younger brother, CHING YEE (Tse Tin Wah), laughs at SUM a lot, but he also feels sorry for his plight, and gives him practical advices whenever he can. One day, SUM is caught red-handed in Shenzhen by LAI SUM, who proposes to divorce him! YEE always claims he has never lost in the game of love, until he meets MIU LING CHI (Theresa Lee), a newly recruited management staff of the company. YEE loses bitterly this time, and almost loses his job, too.
Why is it that relationship can be earth-shattering but marriage only revolves around trifles? Miu Kiu Wai plays a henpecked man for the first time ever, and Maggie acts as his bruiser wife in her powerful comeback. So make sure you don't miss this explosively funny romantic comedy which exposes the very truth about relationships!

My thoughts:
Finally a comedy drama! Since War and Beauty, Maggie Cheung has not acted in any TVB dramas. This drama is a great opportunity to see Maggie on-screen. Not to forget how she over-powered Michael Miu who acted as a henpecked man for the first time. Michael Tse seems to have lots of drama recently if you would include Cupid Stupid. Pls feel free to comment. ^_^

My thoughts:
Congratulations to all who attended who gets the awards. I was very irritated the moment I saw the results, it was so unfair beyond words. How could Tavia not have won the best female actress award especially since she was ranked first in the i-weekly magazine (Singapore). Is there some kind of cheating in the results?
Secondly, the worst was the TV character awards. Everyone who attended get a fair share of the award. Is StarHub distributing pork? In any case, they should have revealed the ranking of TV character awards. Sudden increase from 5 awards to 6 awards in the female category raise my doubts. How could Fala Chen and Sonjia Kwok won anything? There are almost the weakest in the nominees. How could they won Sheren Tang and Linda Chung? I am glad that Tavia at least got one award and I would like to correct the Singapore Morning Newspaper who reported that only Louise Lee was the one didn't attend but get the award. It was stated that the awardees was selected based on 70% votes from Public (Online and SMSes) and 30% from Media. Isn't it obvious that there is some biasness in this system?
The happiest person in this award ceremony should be Raymond Lam and Charmaine Sheh who won 3 awards respectively. Other than them, Roger Kwok who was neglected by TVB won as much as the former.
Lastly, I hope that StarHub will not organise such event again, there should be a fairer way of rewarding TVB artistes for their hardwork otherwise don't organise it. Pls feel free to comment about StarHub TVB awards 2009, even if you do share or do not share my thoughts. ^_^
