The TVB 53rd Awards Ceremony will be held on 10 Jan 2021, how time flies and we are into another year! Hope everyone stay safe and healthy, year 2020 has not been a good year for all of us.

TVB Best Actor

My thoughts:

Kind of hoping that Raymond Lam gets the Best Actor Award. haha ^_^ Looking at the list of nominees, Vincent Wong and Michael Miu's performance is the best in Legal Mavericks 2020 and Line Walker: Bull Fight respectively. Quite like Hubert Wu in the The Exorcist's Meter 2 as well.

TVB Best Actress Award

My thoughts:

Support Mandy Wong and Sisley Choi for Best Actress. ^_^ Ali Lee did well as Cash in Death by Zero for an average character. This year is not for Selena Lee, she has missed last year boat for best actress.

TVB Best Supporting Actor Award

My thoughts:

Timothy Cheng did an excellent job in Death By Zero, good chemistry with Moses Chan.

TVB Best Supporting Actress Award

My thoughts:

Yoyo Chen and Winki Lai are hot favourites for best supporting actress for their performance in Life After Death and Al Cappuccino respectively.

TVB Best Male Character Award

My thoughts:

Would be happy if Hubert Wu managed to clinch the award as Ho Zai in The Exorcist's 2nd Meter though his character is a rather cold and emotionless, Ho Zai with the influence of Kenneth Ma and his mum finally understand the true meaning of being part of a family. His first character as Shek Kam Dong in The Exorcist's Meter is also well received.

TVB Best Female Character Award

My thoughts:

The nominees for best female tv character is rather similar to best actress. Maybe Ali Lee can get the award with her performance as Cash in Death by Zero.

TVB Best Male Improvement Award

My thoughts:

Maybe Joey Law? Mark Ma's performance in Life After Death is also well received.

Hope that Gloria Tang can win!

TVB Best Drama Award

My thoughts:

The prediction is super easy when you have analytics at your fingertips (for more analytics analysis, please refer to this link), to put a disclaimer, sometimes best drama can be a management decision, more of human factor. The top viewership for year 2020 is Forensic Heroes IV and Airport Strikers (***Legal Mavericks 2 viewership not released yet***). Personal favourite is Brutually Young, Legal Mavericks 2 and The Exorcist's 2nd Meter. They missed out 'The offliners' which is also my favourite drama, the storyline features a tech start-up setting, the challenges of working in a start-up and how to work towards your passion, quite a motivational drama to watch and it's a must-watch. Which 2020 drama is your favourite, leave a comment below!

P.S. For Best TVB Song Award, it's got to be '凡人不懂愛', it's the best song in 2020, have been looping it over and over again. The next best song is The Offliners main theme "差一些" by Owen Cheung. ^_^

Raymond and Michael investigate a human trafficking case and solve the case with help from the Security Bureau's investigator Kenneth Ma. The Security Bureau invites Benjamin Yuen to join its new intelligence unit. Michael is drawn into the election of the new triad leader. A former partner runs in the election using a different identity. Michael re-encounters his old opponent Benz Hui, who had supposedly been shot by Raymond. He also discovers that Kenneth's real identity is the younger brother of his former enemy Moses Chan and that he is plotting revenge against everyone. Everyone joins together in the investigation and uncovers a massive dark organization. Suddenly, a storm approaches again...

She was first introduced in series 1 where she led Kenneth Ma to awake Shek Kam Dong (Hubert Wu). In series 2, she appeared in the haunted mansion 12 wives scene as someone who live nearby and she asked Siu Ma (Kenneth Ma) for her taxi change owed to her in series 1. She subsequently called the police as Lo-Sze (Alex Mak) subdued the 12 wives spirit. Is her character critical in the drama? She was the triggering point for Siu Ma to meet Shek Kam Dong and he subsequently become an Exorcist.

It's the time of the year again, congratulations to all the winners! Finally Kenneth Ma clinched the TV King award after 12 times nomination. So happy that it's a double win for Pakho Chau for Best TV Male Character Award as Oppa in Wonder Woman and Best Theme Song. It's such a coincidence that Kenneth Ma, Miriam Yeung and Selena Lee are Aquarius and winners of the 52nd Anniversary Awards. If you have not watch any of the TVB dramas yet for year 2019, my recommended series are 1) The Offliners (Super good show, small production, big inspiration, a waste that it was not broadcasted in HK, warehouse overseas) 2) Barrack O'Karma 3) Big White Duel 4) Our Unwinding Ethos and 5) The Ghetto-Fabulous Lady in order of preference. ^_^

Brief summary:

TVB Best Actor

My thoughts:

Kind of sad that Kenneth Ma didn't manage to win Best Actor in year 2018 for The Exorcist's Meter, hopefully this year is his big win. Commendable performance for Kenneth Ma, Philip Keung, Joel Chan and Pakho Chau in their respective drama.

TVB Best Actress Award

My thoughts:

Seems like TVB is running out of actress to fill up the 20 positions. Kara Hui FTW! It would be a disgrace if she didn't get the award as she was the Golden Horse Best Actress winner.

TVB Best Supporting Actor Award

My thoughts:

Personally support Eric Li in A Man Who Kills Trouble. His evil turn good character left deep impressions. Because he has left the TV station, there is no chance he will get the award.

TVB Best Supporting Actress Award

My thoughts:

Like Candice Chiu's performance in Barrack O'Karma as the creepy helper. her acting is great in that drama.

TVB Best Male Character Award

My thoughts:

Support Pakho in Wonder Woman for best male tv character award. His portrayal as a rich 2nd gen is likable and not dull at all and the interaction between him and Miriam Yeung is interesting to watch.

TVB Best Female Character Award

My thoughts:

Kind of like Rosina Lin in Our Unwinding Ethos as Folklore Professor where she solved mysteries to uncover the truth in folk tale. A well written storyline if you have not watch the series.

TVB Best Male Improvement Award

My thoughts:

Support Owen Cheung, haha! He's at senior category if he won same as Mat Yeung (winner in year 2017).

My thoughts:

Could be the heavily promoted Kelly Cheung.
