Brief summary:

Northern Lights Insurance Company has a team of insurance investigators that is led by Benz Hui, who loves to make impromptu jokes, and includes wealthy heiress Annie Liu, the affectionate Bosco Wong and retired police officer Michael Miu. They each have their own talents and form a legendary team in the insurance industry. They manage to thoroughly investigate and uncover the truth in all the thorny, dangerous or strange cases that are passed to them. Although 9 out of 10 cases end up with the insurance company paying out money, their mission is to discover the truth. Fairness, impartiality and righteousness are their guiding principles. The three investigators are like special agents, conducting cross-border investigations, searching for clues, following targets and gathering evidence. At the same time, they unintentionally become involved many people's stories and become their guardian angel.

My thoughts:

It's the time of the year again, congratulations to all the winners! Finally Joe Ma clinched the TV King award after 16 times nomination. More leaning towards Mandy Wong to win TV Queen unexpectedly given to Ali Lee for her performance in Who Wants a Baby. Best Drama is definitely Life on the Line. On a side note, congratulations to Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong who got married in April this year. If you have not watch any of the TVB dramas yet for year 2018, my recommended series are 1) Life on the Line, 2) The Forgotten Valley, 3) Deep in the Realm of Conscience, 4) Daddy Cool, 5) Wife Interrupted and 6) Fist Fight in order of preference. ^_^

Oh my! It has been sooo long since the nomination list is out. Pardon me for the late post. >_<

TVB Best Actor

My thoughts:

Veteran acor Lau Kong deserves a thumbs up for his performance in The Forgotten Valley. Also support Joe Ma for his performance as the paramedic senior in Life on the Line. Kind of sad that Kenneth Ma didn't manage to win Best Actor last year for The Exorcist's Meter, wonder which year will be his year. During the TVB 51th Anniversary Gala, Benjamin Yuen won Best Actor for the Singapore and Malaysia region for his performance in The Stealing Seconds. I have selected the Top 5 to win Best Actor, please vote if it's your personal favourites as well. ^_^

TVB Best Actress Award

My thoughts:

Seems like TVB is running out of actress to fill up the 20 positions. Mandy Wong FTW! Been supporting her since her days in L'Escargot Year 2012. The logic is if Natalie can won Best Actress last year, nothing is impossible. I have also shortlisted the Top 5 to win Best Actress, please vote if it's your personal favourites as well. ^_^

TVB Best Supporting Actor Award

My thoughts:

Personally support Willie Lai in Life on the Line. His character in Life on the Line left deep impressions in many, be positive and be happy.

TVB Best Supporting Actress Award

My thoughts:

Heard that Mandy Lam receives good response in her acting in Come Home Love. Didn't got the time to watch the sitcom, good luck to her! For non-sitecom, I would personally support Zoie Tam in The Forgotten Valley, her acting is great in that drama.

TVB Best Male Character Award

My thoughts:

Support Carlos Chan in Daddy Cool for best male tv character award. His portrayal as a grandfather to Wayne Lai is likable and not dull at all and the interaction between him, Wayne Lai and David Chiang is interesting to watch.

TVB Best Female Character Award

My thoughts:

I won't mind a double win for Mandy Wong. haha. Another potential one is Ali Lee in Who Wants a Baby?, I don't really like her in that drama, she shouts a lot at Chris Lai in the beginning episodes till I am on the verge to switch off the TV. Grace Wong character as Ophelia in OMG, Your Honour is a complicated mix, wouldn't say it is likable by the majority unless the audience sympathies with her character.

TVB Best Male Improvement Award

My thoughts:

Support both Matthew Ho and Hubert Wu equally. haha

TVB Best Female Improvement Award

My thoughts:

No preference to any but I secretly hope that they don't give the award to Louisa Mak (like in Grace Chan's case), seems like TVB is trying to promote her by putting all the weak ones on the nomination list. Haiz why is Zoie Tam and Sisley Choi not in the list, both are in the list for previous years and have not won it yet. Last year Best Male Improvement award winner Mat Yeung has been with the company for at least a decade.

TVB Best Drama Award

My thoughts:

The prediction is super easy when you have analytics to take a look at a glance (for more analytics analysis, please refer to this link), to put a disclaimer, sometimes best drama can be a management decision, more of human factor. The top viewership for year 2018 is Deep in the Realm of Conscience and Life on the Line. Personal favourite is Life on the Line, a more meaningful and food for thoughts drama.

Brief summary:

Dicky Cheung is an unambitious, low-ranking corporal in the Warlord Era. Relying on his savvy mind and silver tongue, he made it through the last twenty years. One time, he saves Generalissimo Choi Kwok Hing and is promoted seven ranks, becoming the local tyrant of a town. Three warlords (Max Cheung, Eddie Pang and Koo Ming Wah) who had established their territory near the town are seething in anger and waiting for an opportunity to deal with him. Luckily, Dicky has three sworn brothers (Tony Hung, Tsui Wing and Oscar Li) who are united against the enemy. They even manage to coerce weapons expert Raymond Cho to join them, allowing them to establish their footing in the town. Dicky has three wives (Zoie Tam, Vivien Yeo and Sisley Choi) who are always competing for his favour. Sisley is a member of the Revolutionary Party. Although Dicky knows of her identity, he still keeps her by his side, which could stir up trouble at any time. The throbbing ambition of someone within the barracks, along with having the other warlords and the Japanese watching him like a hawk, puts Dicky in a desperate situation.

Brief summary:

To help her regain her spirit, Benjamin takes over Yeung Chiu Hoi's coffee shop. He meets barista Hubert Wu and re-encounters his childhood friend Rebecca Zhu. Rebecca, a pole dancing teacher, has many men at her feet, but she only has feelings for Benjamin. Brief summary:

When he was younger, Hugo Ng accepted a mission to infiltrate the triads as an undercover agent. The triad leader's daughter, Christine Ng, fell in love with him at first sight. Although Hugo already had his heart set on the simple Mimi Kung, he pretended to be with Christine in order to solve the case. As a result, he quickly rose through the ranks in the triad. One time, during a fight between triads, Hugo eliminated Christine's triad rivals, but Christine's fate remained unclear. Hugo's good friend, Michael Miu, knows about his affair with Christine and their infant son (Bosco Wong). Hugo brings Bosco home and Mimi also gives birth to a son (Ron Ng). Because of the sin that he represented, Bosco did not grow up with love from his father. But Ron also did not get spoiled by Hugo and instead had to go through many hardships. The half-brothers accumulate a number of grudges growing up. Each of them also coincidentally develop a father-like mentor relationship with Michael. During a grand promotional ceremony, Hugo, having achieved the rank of Superintendent, is happily preparing to receive this honour, but unknowingly steps into a revenge plot that is thirty years in the making...
